Spend all day with my wife looking for maternity clothes for the wifie... Standard response "no sorry we don't do maternity wear" or "sorry it's just one small section"...

What shops are best? Are they ALL online? We are in the Glasgow area.

Hiya
I'm in Edinburgh and most of the maternity sections are tiny!! I got quite a few things at the Glasgow Fort, particularly in Next there when the sale was on. I think a lot of the girls on here like Primark, although they don't have a specific maternity section a lot of the clothes are adaptable if you buy a size bigger, and longer tops. I hope some of the others have some suggestions!

if you go into Mothercare on Sauchiehall Street they have a sale on I was in there the other day it is still quite expensive, i would just buy a bigger size xx

i havent actually bought any maternity clothes so far i was a size 8 before pregnant and now i buy either size 10 or 12 x

If you have a large mamas and papas in your area they should have a big maternity section they do wonderful cloths they are mega expensive but they have sales of 50% off every so often so worth a try there also try on the website, you can click and collect to the store free of charge.
x

I went to primark and bought a lot of plain t shirts and cardis in larger sizes spend £30 on the lot and even go some co-ordinating jewellrey but my trousers I get from asda maternity range, cheaper option is just 2 buy bigger sizes or try ebay x

I tink maternity sections everywhere are CRAP on the whole!! Even Next and M&S. I found online shopping much easier with much more choice x

new look

dorothy perkins
peacocks

mamas and papas
topshop

i know all these shops do maternity wear.

Hi there if u try next clearance in the forge girls there sorted me with mat clothes . On that day there was none stock on the shop floor that but asked a lass and she went to the stockroom and returned 5 mins l8r with a bundle for me.
All very Cheap too !!
She also informed me that mat stock was avalible to order in store, she gave me the directory let me browse for while when she returned it was all ordered on there till .
to be collected 3 days later in store for Free. With an exception of 2 items sold out.!!!
the girls names were kirsty and nichola so even ask for either of them !!!

On collection i did try to order in store again!!! Told "no cant do that here" several times by staff so make sure u ask a manager or some1 who knws !!

i have the same problem in Glasgow! i live by a Mothercare tho so tend to shop there, or if not online which isnt very good coz u really need to try them on. Like others have said, normal clothes in the next size up is usually cheaper. x

I got a few things in New Look in Braehead but like the others said, just buying a bigger size is usually easier. xx

I'm in edinburgh, but just buy things online. I have a few nice things from dorothy perkins :). Next looks good too! x
