Hello all

Was just wondering when you all started to feel like you were getting a proper bump? this week i suddenly feel like it is appearing!! I know everyone is different i just find it interesting to know these things.

Also when did you start to feel like you needed maternity clothes as you started to get uncomfortable in yor usual clothes?

Thank

xxxx

Hi nikki,

I was definitely about your stage when I needed to undo the button on my trousers and think about moving into maternity clothes. I still haven't got a well defined bump as I was really heavy pre-pregnancy and I just have more of a jelly belly - but when I cover it with clothes I do look a bit preggers!

I found that some of my maternity clothes were a bit tight though, as my uterus was still low down in my pelvis - now they are much more comfortable as my bump/baby is higher up - I hope that makes sense!

Hi nikkif,

We are at the same stage of our pregnancy, I am also due on 1st Sept.
And also, this week, I've noticed that my bump is a lot more rounded and my trousers do seem tighter now. I went out to have a look at maternity clothes yesterday, but a lot of them seem to be catered for those more advanced in their pregnancy, so I think I'll just have to resort to buying bigger sizes of clothes for now.

i was around your stage when i needed looser clothes. i bought my first pair of maternity trousers at about 14 keeks because i needed a new pair anyway. they weren't the over the bump type but they have an adjustable strip in elastic in the waist band. They were from dotty p's. ive since bought some jeans from there too :D

Im 26 weeks and so far I've managed to stay in my normal jeans by just using a hair band to keep the top button together

I have got one pair of maternity jeans but I dont like how they fit, they're tight on my bump but hang off my bum and they look stupid :(

I went to look for maternity clothes at 15 weeks cos that's when I was starting to get a bump :D It's so exciting watching it grow...even if it is slow progress!

mmmmh from about 20 weeks i think i stated to develop my bump..... it was really upsetting to try and find things that would cover my bump...... and Jeans alwell oh gosh....

and as i get bigger i will have to carry on... but now i can show it off with out it just being fatty :D

Before 21 weeks I just looked fat but now I definitely got a bump, It came up like a balloon since week 22, I can still wear my normal jeans, just about  but I am starting to wear my maternity jeans , it more comfy, and I also bought some maternity band, just in case I grow out of my maternity jeans

I still don't have a 'proper bump'
I've bought no maternity clothes at all but lived in tracksuit bottoms before being pregnant so no tight fitting clothes anyway. Though I do need some maternity pants soon, as I'm beginning to feel a pinch

i started getting a bumb at about your stage.

ive only just brought my 1st pair of maternity trousers :)

My normal bottoms don't fit any more - I've not been able to do my jeans & work trousers up for about 3 weeks. I know it's quite early but I'm normally really small so I think that's why there's a difference. I've bought trousers & jeans 2 sizes up - they fit my waist but they look daft round my bum & legs and maternity ones don't really look right either. I'm just sticking to the size up in combats just now until I can fit into maternity ones

thanks girls! so it just shows how different everyone is

I went shopping yesterday and managed to get some maternity trousers for work that look quite good, though it too some searching!! I am ok for casual wear but i feel a bit uncomfortable at work and am guessing that i might grow a lot in the next 2 weeks or so going by this last week so i wanted to be a bit prepared for when my work trousers wont fasten!!

xx

I started wearing proper maternity clothes (skirts and trousers) for work about 2 weeks ago. I didn't feel comfortable in my old clothes. Seems to me in the last 2 weeks my bump has grown a lot. So now I'm wearing almost all maternity clothes apart from a few jumpers and tops which are big anyway.

I gradually started wearing maternity clothes at 17 weeks..

I found there were about 1/2 of my clothes I could get into still, but gradually this is dimishing - I cannot get into any of my normal skirts or trousers anymore, some of my tops are OK - ones that are a big longer and stretchy I am still getting away with.

I started wearing maternity jeans when I was about 10 weeks I was about a stone overweight before getting pregnant and sufferent with terrible bloatedness in the early days and so none of my clothes were comfortable. But now I have a very definite bump. I have one pair of combats that are just a size bigger and they just about still fit me they were huge when I bought them but fit under the bump. Everything else 2 jeans and about 4 tops are all maternity (I do a lot of washing :D ) I'm waiting until the weather gets warmer and I get bigger before buying anymore.

Hi

I went in maternity vlothes abotu a week after i found out none of my new pants i bought fit me no more. It was the same with my first pregnancy

there is a 50% off sale on fun mum website this weekend BTW, they have some quite cool clothes....

I'm in maternity clothes already. I was very tiny pre-pregnancy, so my clothes became tight very quickly, because they were so fitted!

I've bought some topshop maternity jeans and trousers off ebay, and they're great. They look just like the normal jeans but with stretchy pockets. And inside the pockets, they have 3 tightness settings with elastic and buttons (very complicated!).

With regards to the bump. It's just appeared over the last week. I was getting very impatient!! It's still not very big, but it's definitely a bump!
