Maternity Allowance Last Payment

I have to apply for MA as I don't qualify for smp from work as I wasn't there long enough (missed out by 8 days!) I'm trying to figure out when to start my MA as I get paid from work in arrears. So my wages for august will be paid at the end of Sept. Then when I return in June, I won't get paid til the end of July. So need my MA money to cover June.

If I start my 39 weeks on 17th Sept to 17th June, when would my last lot of money go in? I know you get paid 2 weeks in arrears so 1st payment would be 1st Oct ish, then every 2 weeks til when? Is it the 17th June the last payment day or 2 weeks after as in arrears?

Anyone who has had their MA for the full time able to help. As I really need to make sure I'm not leaving as short of money at the end of my maternity leave xx

I got my first payment on 28th October 2013 (started mat leave 13th Oct) and my last on 2nd July 2014 - with your dates you'd be a month ahead of mine so I'd guess your last payment would be start of June. I got paid 4 weekly.

Edit to add - the first payment wasn't for a full 4 weeks and the second payment came just 2 weeks later.

Now I'm confused. Was your 2nd payment for a full 4 weeks or just 2? I work out that your 39 weeks are up on 13th July, and you have possibly only been paid for 37 of your 39 weeks, unless your 2nd payment was for 4 weeks not 2 like I'm adding up. Sorry for all the questions, but really need to budget carefully. Thank you for your help xx

Sorry, yes, the 2nd payment was for a full 4 weeks. So I got my first payment of 2 weeks money then 2 weeks later I got a payment of 4 weeks money.
