Hey ladies :)

As some as you know, I've been experiencing quite a bit of anxiety this past week (got my BFP last Friday 2 -3 weeks on CB Digi) and as a result my neck has spasmed up. I've tried wheat bags and got DH to give it a rub, but it still kills, so I just wondered about getting a professional massage at this stage in my pregnancy - any thoughts?? :) xxxxxxxx

Hey hun. I'd personally advise against it in tri 1. Most salons/spas generally don't provide massage until you are at least 12 weeks.

How about a facial? You get a massage in this and this usually includes the decollete and shoulders. Plus facials are lovely and very relaxing :)

Hope you're feeling better soon xx

get some red tiger balm and get hubby to rub it in until it starts getting warm. Amazing stuff!

failing that get a hot compress and a cold one. Put the hot one on for 1min. then put the cold one on for 1min and keep going. Its uncomfortable but it forces the muscle to relax.

I get spasms in my lower back every so often, and its horrid! x

Morning Ceebee!

I've thought about this myself recently as I've been getting some aches and pains too.
From what I've found EJP's right - most salons & spa's won't give massage to you in your first trimester.

Once I've had my 12 week scan I intend to contact a lady I've come across in my area who is a certified pregnancy massage therapist. Maybe check to see if there is one in your area?

I can also second what Lynds says about the tiger balm - it's magic!!! Make sure you don't get palmed off with the fake stuff as it doesn't really work (usually the stuff you find in dodgy hippy shops!) and once you've applied it wash your hands before you put them ANYWHERE else (ask my OH!!!).

Hope this helps lovely :) xxx

Thanks for the advice girls :). My neck is feeling a little better today, so will probably try and hold out until tri 2 and then see a proper pregnancy massage therapist if needs be... If it gets bad again tho Lynds I will try the hot, cold thing, thanks :). I used to have tiger balm, but don't think I do anymore - any ideas where I can get the 'real thing'?

Ta again :) xxx

Ah great, that's very convenient, thanks :). Will have to get me some of that :) xxx

ooh I'd love a good massage! Guess I'll have to wait :clock:

Hope the tiger balm works ceebee, let us know wont you. x
