Hi All,

My wife has had a pretty rough time of it with this pregnancy (our first) and this continued this weekend while we were at a wedding. My wife started to complain of feeling funny and tingly all over and that her sight was fading. After a few minutes she had lost all sight and fainted. This didn't last very long and she quickly came round once she was outside. The room was very hot and this may have been a contributing factor.

Thankfully there was a nurse amongst the guests who took care of her, but i was wondering if this was something anyone else has experienced. She is 23 weeks pregnant and apparently her mother experienced the same thing with her.

Many thanks in advance

Hi, my sister has this but she hasn't fainted that may of probably been due to warm surroundings etc, But she gets tingly feelings in her lips and eyes and cant see properly and all her midwifes have put it down to low blood pressure an there's nothing that can be done, this is her second pregnancy and shes experianced it all over again.

I nearly fainted the other night and felt exactly like you have just described. Im a flaker anyway even when im not pregnant so im quite used to it and know when its coming on, doesn't make it nice tho!

Its common in pregnancy when you BP drops and the heat prob didnt help either! I hope shes feeling better now!

She should go to her GP regardless of the fact other people have had this to make sure everything is OK.

I had this and so did my sis! Well we didnt actually faint but went blind as a bad and very confused etc! MW told us both it was low blood pressure! I was on a bus lol! Got up to get off and luckily was with my sis and couldnt see! It must have looked funny to others around us as my sister was 9 months pregnant and I was just a few and not showing! My sis had to prop me up and guide me to a wall to lean on! No one though to ask us do we need help! Lovely that isnt it!?

I would get it checked as sight problems can also be caused by pre-eclampsia, which if left undiagnosed can be serious.
