I know its late to add but been so messed up and was kept in the hospital for a week.
Had pessary induction on the 9th Feb at about half three in the afternoon. Then I waited till about 1 am the next morning for the next tablet. Had some painkillers to help me sleep and then had an early morning wake up at 7am. I was already awake anyway about 6ish.
I was taken down to the labour ward and hooked up the machine to monitor baby and a drip placed into my wrist. I was hoping it would help things move along as still wasn't dilated.
I had my waters broken when I wasn't even dilated, to which was horrible I was in so much pain when the doctor did this and there was so much of it >.<
A day later and only got to 2-3cm dilated and was in total agony and had epidural to help ease the pain, my contractions weren't regular enough and he still wasn't making an appearance. He was getting distressed and they opted to do C-sec 2 days after all the drugs thank god....
In the end I was so shattered I pleaded for section the night before but they refused to do it that night, I ended up getting an infection as prolonged rupture of my membranes... My OH was so angry and pissed off with the night staff there.
The morning of my C-sec I had blood taken from my babys head inside me to monitor his oxygen levels to which were low and he was stressed out. Also they fitted a device to his head to monitor his heartbeat but I accidently ripped it off moving up the bed.
I thanked the day doctor that finally said I could have C-sec and was prepped and sorted out. My epidural had snapped and they said due to hygenie issues they would have to give me a spinal block because of the infection risk to reconnecting the epidural.
So wheeled in to the room, given spinal and was in total world of my own spaced out shaking and nervous.....
So at 11.37am My son was born Leo James Onions, Weighing in at 6lb 10 oz's on the 11th Feb.
