So as the title suggests, I'm wanting to ask women who have had previous ectopic pregnancy, and had a tube removed, how long did it take for you to conceive afterwards? How did the pregnancy go? What extra care did you have ie early scans? Regular blood testing? Etc. I had my ectopic pregnancy and left tube removed on 7th Feb and though it was only a few weeks ago, I am desperate to be pregnant again. How soon is too soon? My stomach isn't sore or uncomfortable anymore, I have been fine since about 4 days post op, back doing school runs etc and not needing pain relief for it since the day after the laparoscopy. Dr is pleased with my recovery and said my stomach is fine and is optimistic about my chances of a healthy future pregnancy. I just want to know about other people's experiences of pregnancies after an ectopic? Thanks ladies xx

I'm interested in this also :) Any info would be great!

I didn't have a tube removed but when I did get pregnant again, I got a scan at 7 weeks, make sure you ask for it when the time comes x

Thanks hun, my gp said I'd get scanned at 6-7 weeks in all my following pregnancies, I just worry, but I am longing to be pregnant again xx

I was also lucky enough not to have a tube removed... but the methotrexate meant no trying for 3 months... then hubs was away till august... I got pregnant again in the September... all seems to be going ok so far :) I also had a scan at 6 weeks to make sure this one got to the right place. I didn't have any blood tests which I thought was weird, they seemed quite happy to leave me till the 6 week mark.

Good luck hun... its a horrid experience to go through :) x

Yeah I had to wait 3 months too, then got pregnant about another 3 cycles after. So was originally supposed to have a baby in July 13 now having one any day, so 8 months on xx

i had an ectopic and had my right tube removed, we decided not to try for a while after but but fell pregnant 3 months later. unfortunately that was a miscarraige, which wasnt anything to do with ectopic, just very bad luck :( after that it took a year to for us to fall pregnant again and im now 16 weeks gone. i was also desperate to be pregnant afterwards and i wont lie, it was very difficult at times, but just stick with it through thick and thin and you get your rainbow baby. i really hope you dont have to wait as long as we did and i wish you all the luck xxx

oh and when i told my midwife that i had an ectopic when i booked in this time, i was in for an early scan the next day! xxx

Hi ya.

I had an ectopic last June, I had my left tube removed! Three months after surgery we tried again and I fell straight away. I am now 27 weeks pregnant.

I had an early scan at 6 weeks, another at 10 weeks and then my 12 week scan as normal.

Good luck! But from my experience you will be fine. I also suffer with endometriosis and PCOS. It just goes to show anything can happen.

X

thank you ladies, i feel a lot more confident about us falling pregnant again :-D it is something i can plan and think about for the time being, until we catch again :)

i think the witch is about to arrive, serious pmt flipping from one mood to the next this weekend, poor oh had to deal with some awful strops and ended up walking out to calm down. He only went to the shops but it gave us both time to think about it all and it was such a stupid thing to be falling out about :-\ when he came back in we talked about it and both agreed that we all need to have a blow up every now and then, but we always make up and it is so rare for us to do it, that it makes us realise how much we love each other xx

Have woken to very vivid and random dreams the last few nights, plus the icky metallic taste in my mouth...could I have caught already? Or could it just be me wishing? Don't want to test, not for another week at least, but I'm at a wedding today and know I will be thinking about it all day! Xx

it could be possible! dont test yet! have a good time at the wedding but just try not to over do it....just incase ;) good luck xxx

I ended up having just a smirnoff ice and then sticking with cola, i decided that being the designated driver saved any questions too. It was a good day and night, very good craic lol. I didn't think about it too much and will leave testing for another week or so. Am in two minds but haven't had a visit from the witch so am wondering if it could be my body playing tricks on me lol xx

it could be either :/ it can take a while for your period to come again. i do hope its your bfp tho. i know how horrible it is wishing all the time xxx
