I've been getting loads of knitted goodies off my family for baba, and I think they're absolutely lush!

However, a few of my friends have said they wouldn't be caught dead putting woolies like that on their babies, because it's way too old fashioned.

Thought I'd show you some of these little home-made, hand-knitted delights, and see what you all think :)

[Excuse the carpet! Haha!]

I think they are lovely.. :)

To be honest when i was pregnant the 1st time, my nan knitted me alot of cardigans and blankets.. i loved the blankets but thought the same as some of your friends ' i wouldnt put my child in that' but when she was born sometimes she had a outfit and needed a cardigan and i didnt have any that would go with what she was wearing and so i thought id try one of the knitted cardi's on her and she look adorable!! i love them now... im going to start knitting as my pregnancy hobbie and make a few myself.. :)

I put Paige in knit wear :D Theyre lovely! They are always a bit of an odd fit but then theyre not all measured like shop brought stuff so I think it gives them a nice quality.

all noas knitwaer are t0oo big still :(

Aww, he'll grow into it Evelina. I don't know if any of this is the right size either! Haha!

There's always that worry with knitted stuff, and in case they stretch/shrink etc in the wash :oooo:

Before my niece came along I would have thought it was old fashioned but seeing her in her little knitted jumpers and cardigans she looks so cute! I've had my mum knitting since I was 8 weeks - just a shame she's picked some dodgy colours for some bits!!

I think they're gorgeous! Love the little matching hats! I think little babies look so adorable in them :cloud9:

Oh, you should have heard me when I pulled out that little pink bonnet with the ribbons on!
I think I broke some kind of pitch-sound-barrier with the squeaking, it's so adorable!
(just need a girl to put it on now.... haha!)

I love it I think its great when you have something no1 else is going to have and its really personal and a nice thing for family members to b able to do for you and the baby they look so cute, I wish I had some1 to knit things for my baby but the only person that used to knit baby clothes is my gran who sadly passed away 6 yrs ago and im useless myself. Those ppl who are telling you they wouldnt put there child in them are just narrow minded ignore them your baby will look beautifull in them x

My mum crocheted a cardi & my nan knitted one years ago for a project when my mum went bk to college to do teaching when I was a kid & I always made her promise to keep then for me for when I had a baby & she did! I love them, they mean so much more than shop bought when a friend or your family has taken the time to make something, it means even more to me now as my nan died so nans cardi will be the 1st thing baby wears :) my auntie & best friend are also knitting blankets :) x

I think people love having the excuse to get the knitting needles out! My MiL has done, but bless, my Mum's only managed one! But had so many beautiful things made for us. I guess it helps we work in a place where the average age is nearing retirement, lol!!!

I think they are gorgeous, and shows that the baby has people that care about them so much! Plus they are completly unique!
I would love someone in my family to be able to knit!!

I am a big fan of homemade knitted clothes - particularly matinée jackets and cardigans. We have had a couple knitted for us, as well as blankets etc. Can't wait until the baby is big enough to wear them - they never seem to fit newborn babes, which is such a shame as I'd love a homemade cardi to be part of baby's coming home outfit.

I'm so glad this has gotten such a positive response, I'm glad to see that knitted bits are still going strong! x
