:) January 2018 Mummy's thread

Hi ladies!

Went for my midwife appointment this morning and heard the heartbeat for the first time! We didn't hear it at the scan! So amazing!!

Also anyone else starting to feel more hungry? I feel greedy but I am 17 weeks today and feels like I am constantly eating!!

Aw it's so amazing isnt it! We heard ours again on Saturday  can have it put in a bear, i think i might do that next time lol

I also feel like I've never been fed! constant snacking x

Good, glad it's not just me! I try and eat healthily but it doesn't always pan out that way...! My meals are healthy but the snacks not always!!

Same.. Meals are healthy! However snacks are biscuits, milkshakes and sweets!

Just catching up after a busy weekend! Karen that's fab about movements! I keep feeling things, but nothing strong yet, was really hoping to by now. But Its still early I guess.

Marie lovely heart rate, we have a Doppler and I love listening to it.

Ali hope you had a fab day for Zachary's birthday! We've just had a 2nd birthday on Sunday, and we will have a 5th birthday this Sunday! Busy month! :)

Kathrynlovely isn't it. They don't let us hear it at scans in our area, but they do it at the midwife from 16 weeks so that's good. They start measuring from the 24/25 week app in my area, so that's exciting! It will feel like the home straight from there and soon fly round! Exciting!

Carly and flower petal how does it feel having a boy?! :)

Oh and I've started feeling a lot hungrier too!! But I can't eat big stodgy meals and still can't touch meat, but I seem to be grazing all day really but not on anything major, just cereal, yoghurts, milk, the odd biscuit.. x x

As we've now told people, a lot of their reaction was this "I did think you were gaining weight!" To be honest, because my boobs are now huge I think that sparked the most questions! As I'm still in mostly normal clothes, just maternity jeans. But how is everyone else carrying? I've gone quite round all over. With my boys my belly stuck right out. I don't believe the old wives tales, i believe you can carry differently each time, but it's fun to guess gender by certain things!. As we aren't finding out either! X x

I'm definitely bigger now than I was at this point in my first pregnancy. My boobs have gone bigger quicker too. They are gigantic. I'm the same as you with maternity jeans and normal everything else. I'm definitely NOT visibly pregnant to the outside world, but I feel like my face has gone fatter this time so I'm thinking maybe I'll carry in a more "spread around" way this time- last time I was all bump. Not finding out the sex but I'm sure it'll be a boy because I can't imagine anything else. Will be over the moon either way.

This is my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it to but I am quite round now. I am mostly still wearing my normal clothes apart from a few bits that are just too tight like my work trousers. Have bought maternity ones but they are still too big so basically I am struggling! Oh well, it's a nice problem to have I suppose!

I'll need to take a bump picture later, I feel huge!!
I went to our physio group yesterday so I'm all set with my tubigrip, pelvic belt and wrist splint! She didn't have anything for my jaw pain :) her advice was not to chew too much, but I'm loving crunchy veg!!!
I got my scan date through today, so we'll find out baby's gender on the 1st of September!!

Morning All,

Hope you're feeling ok now Ronnie, it's nice to see you post.

Zac had a fab 3rd Birthday, thanks Sugar. I'm still recovering - a full long weekend at centerparcs following by 3rd birthday family fun has really wiped me out. I was in bed asleep by 8:45pm last night!

Today, it's me and my lovely Hubbie's 4th Wedding Anniversary - my mum is having Zachary for a few hours so we can go out for a child free lunch! Looks like we might go for a Thai meal, delish.

Anyone worry they maybe eating banned foods?! haha. The other week I NEEDED goats cheese - granted it was melted ish, and then i've been eating a lot of breaded king prawns dipped in sweet chilli sauce. Again, I NEEDED them - I don't even know if they're banned, but OH seemed to think they might be. I'm a bit more relaxed this pregnancy, having been so super poorly at the beginning i'm just glad I can eat and if I want it, i'll have it because some days I really don't feel like anything.

Speaking of food, I had an appointment with the Health Visitor, about weight during pregnancy because i'm fat/have high BMI. She weighed me and as of last week I had gained a mere 2lbs at 18 weeks! All a bit pointless really, I don't intentionally eat crap but as we all know, you have to eat what you can stomach. Got another appointment in 4 weeks time!

Can't wait for the next batch of Gender reveals to come in!

Goats cheese is fine as long as it's not got a rind on it - you can get different ones as I am sure you know if you like it, like I do.

I haven't stopped eating prawns - I love prawns! The rule is, as long as they are properly cooked then they are fine. Now, I don't know about you, but I have never been one to eat raw prawns, pregnant or not!! Haha.

I've also been a lot more relaxed about what I'm eating this pregnancy. I avoid the obvious stuff, but try not to go overboard. Mum always says they are anything back then and we are all fine! We had our 20 week scan today and all good way baby...the sonographer said she was 80% sure baby is a girl as there was no boy parts visible and 3 white lines between the legs. I'm thrilled as we have 2 boys, but feeling a bit nervous in case it's not...hubby reckons she said 80% as they can't say 100% on the NHS in case they are wrong and get sued! I said we should get a private scan to double check but he said we are not paying out for any more scans. What have others who've had their 20 week scan experirmced? How certain were they are about the gender? X

Talked hubby into a private gender scan on Saturday so should know for sure then! X

That's super exciting!
My 20 week scan is next week, so I haven't any recent experience of them revealing the gender. With my little boy 3 years ago, he was displaying his bits quite clearly so there was no wondering that he was a boy!

When we had a private gender scan this time, the lady's words were "There is definitely no tackle down there!" - so that's good enough confirmation for me that baby is a girl and there was nothing in the way to suggest otherwise.

Ooo another gender reveal! But sounds like another team pink. I bought a pack of two cute white/grey velour babygrows todah. Have 4 neautral ones now so will probably leave it at that. Excited for us to have a surprise! (I think!) :) xx

Evening ladies :)

What a day! Spent the whole day in hospital pretty much! Had the tiniest bleed yday and because of my blood group I had to have an examination, blood test and anti d injection but it took all day in two different hospitals!! Argh!!!

Toddler has also turned into an evil being and I'm craving my good little girl back so much!

Hope you're ok Karen :) glad they looked after you! What was the outcome?

Anyone got 20 weeks scans coming up? Xxx

Oh Karen the last thing you need is the toddler stress too! I came down yesterday to find half the fish tank half empty with the WiFi dangle in it and that he'd been eating coffee from the jar!!

I have my 20 weeks on the 1st, getting quite anxious about it!

Toddlers are just hideous at times ... !!
We've got our 20 week scan on Friday, so excited. I desperately want to find out! But I know I will love the surprise on the day.

I still haven't felt proper movements, and my bump isn't that noticeable to be honest, I'll upload some pics from yesterday. My boobs however have gone up 3 sizes, and are probably what made people guess! (We've only just announced it!)

Very different to how I've carried and felt with the boys. . . Still could be boy though! :)
