:) January 2018 Mummy's thread

Oh karen my pelvic floor is in a terrible state, hayfever gives me the fear!!!!!!
I managed to tell my parents this evening!!! It wasn't the worst reaction so feeling fairly upbeat. I think my mum had a good idea anyway. Such a relief they know now!

Imagine if all the kids had noticed?? I would have had to quit haha!! Ahh glad your response was more positive than expected!!!

I'm now due January 14th and we won't be finding out the sex before arrival. Can you update me please? Baby was bouncing around on their side, kept turning away so I had to move around a lot to try and get them on their back. Cheeky wee thing already :D Healthy baby and nuchal was only 2mm so looking good there. Was very relieved as have been so sick, unable to keep vitamins down. On scan day (which was 12+4) I was sick 14 times @.@

I sympathise, I've also been very ill again this pregnancy with HG. Hope you're being treated with anti sickness meds and being monitored for ketones? X

Couldn't keep the first set down, which I was given cos I had 3/4 keytones.

Second meds were the gum dissolve type and they made me more sick!!!! I've never had an allergy to anything in my life but my body was constantly vomiting to the point I couldn't even stop being sick long enough to eat. I think it's because I had a bad reaction and my body was trying to get rid of it but because it dissolved it couldn't just sick it up. I stopped taking them when I realised it was just getting worse and worse and it did get better for about a week. Currently I am between houses (moving in Friday!!) So I don't have a GP to go to. To be honest though I'd rather wait for new one. Second doctor who gave me that dissolving poison didn't even check my urine for keytones despite me bringing her a sample and she asked if it was my first pregnancy then laughed at me. She ignored me when I told her I'd lost over half a stone. I think she thought I was just overreacting and being dramatic but I only go to the doctor if I'm absolutely dying so I was really annoyed at her attitude. (In old GP you can't see a specific doc just who ever is available so I couldn't go back to first one).

I'm just hoping it eases off soon, even if I'm sick the whole time, it would be nice to keep a bit more food down/fancy eating to begin with

Sounds like you have HG which is a very serious illness and should be treated. It's not good for you or bubs if you are not eating or drinking. If you are being sick 14 times a day you should really take yourself to A&E if you GP is not being helpful - they will likely admit you for IV fluids if you have ketones in your urine and give you some IV anti-sickness meds which will kick start things. There are loads of meds you can try, it can take a while to get one/combo that work. If you want to private message me please do. This is my second HG pregnancy so I'm a bit of an expert now (unfortunately!). X

Oh Karen!! I really want to try those indoor trampoline places but I don't think my bladder would let me!x

Yeah I'd wait until next year!! Probably not worth the risk of falling either xx

Oh I don't think I'd ever actually go, pregnant or not haha

Can't believe I'm in the 2nd trimester already!! Time flies. Hope everyone is doing well xx

Evening All,

I'm SO relieved to report that the anti-sickness meds the doctor gave me on Monday afternoon appear to be working - I feel like my old self, so much better and a lot less nausea/sickness, lets hope they continue to work. I worked out yesterday that since I got pregnant i've lost just shy of 11lbs in weight - unbelievable really and I don't feel like I have, luckily I have plenty of reserves!

We'll be finding out the gender of baby - we've booked a private scan for 28th July, when i'll be 16 weeks and 2 days. I'm almost convinced baby is a girl but trying not to get too obsessed with that idea until we know for sure!

Husband breaks up from work tomorrow for the summer, and I only have 2.5 days left to survive next week before I break up. Can't wait - then some chill time with our Zac, once we know baby's gender we can start making preparations. Fortunately, won't need too much as have kept a lot from Zac. Amazingly I've bought nothing so far - this will change once gender is confirmed!!

Time seems to be flying now i've got beyond 12 weeks.

lol it's definitely flying now, so glad to be out of Tri 1 with the nausea all gone... only thing is I think I got thrush...yay lol got some cream anyway and will try the garlic clove thing tonight see if that's as good as I've heard

Just had a busy week so trying to catch up , I've been between tri 1 and 2! Going to join over here now as I'm 14 weeks on Monday anyway.
That's great news about the meds ali. Not so good news mystery! I HATE thrush!!! I've had that and piles so far in this pregnancy! - glam!

Well I saw my consultant yesterday. Was a very productive appt. my consultant is leaving over summer so I saw another, and it was the same woman who performed my emergency section nearly 2 years ago. We went over all my notes from then , and it was so emotional going back to that time. She saved me and Harley. She reminded me that Harley was only minutes away from being dead, and I was in bad shape. I had placenta abruption and it was not a good experience. I know the placenta started to tear away at 35 weeks as I was constantly going down to labour ward and no1 would listen. And Harley hadn't grown since then. I was admitted after a heamorage at home and left for a whole day, before heamoraging again and being rushed to theatre for a crash section! So I'm very anxious this time! But on a positive, we have a plan in place for labour, I want a vbac delivery. I had the option of a c section at 39 weeks but declined. But will be having scans from 28 weeks to check everything and baby's growth so this might all change depending on that outcome. Phew, feel like a load off my mind after that appt! Sorry for rambling! :)

its Friday!!! xx

No it's not too early Jct, felt like tapping on the inside. Felt it a couple of times, and it's different to wind. I'm sure it was baby. Probably was for you too. It will be irregular for now, but over the weeks you'll feel it a lot more. By 16 weeks should feel definite movements, probably not from the outside though. But won't be long! Exciting :)

My placenta is at the front so I apparently won't feel anything until 20+ weeks kinda sad

You may still feel things. Especially if baby kicks down or in your back. Which it will :)
But I knew I should've found out where my placenta was at my scan!! Nothing was said and it isn't in my report and it usually is. I knew the woman was just being useless and not interested. :(

The placenta is at the front for me too so I haven't felt anything yet either. I'm sure I felt things by 19 weeks with the others so still got a few weeks to wait as I am 15+4

My Nana's 80th birthday today! Surprise little tea party for her, so just getting organised for that. Been awake all night with tooth ache and my little one was up at 5.... :( :( so tired!!! They don't know about the pregnancy yet, so need to cover the bump, which is a pain. Still dreading the announcement and keep putting it off.. x

Have a lovely day Sugar!
We're going to my school friends daughter's school 3rd birthday party - it's a BBQ so hope the weather holds.
Although sickness has declined with the tablets the exhaustion continues - I was fast asleep at 7pm last night and didn't wake up until 7am this morning. Tablets can make you feel drowsy which doesn't help when I'm already tired. I would rather settle for that one ban the sickness tho.

On other things baby related - my husband did say before we were expecting that if I had a baby girl I. Like have a new one pram. I have a teal one from when we had Zac but would love a girly one if baby is a girl. However, it seems a bit extravagant. I'm still thinking about it!

Alipops x

Had a fab day yesterday. Thanks. How was the BBQ ali?

How is everyone? Has anyone started to feel better on tri 2?! I'm still as nauseous if not more! And still struggling with food! Seem to only manage bland food.. and puddings :) haha.

Wisdom tooth is killing today I've had to take cocodomol :(

Just curious - how is everyone's body hair growth?!!! I am finding it growing back literally the next day, legs, bikini line , arm pits... and some extra hairs on belly now!! I know the old wives tales say boy for this, but I've had 4 and never had this! My sister actually got a really hairy belly with her girl and not her boy! So MAYBE...... haha .. either way it's annoying! X x
