Congratulations everyone!

According to my LMP I'm 6th Jan though this is first time and first time trying so not too sure what to make of it.

My doctors appointment isn't for another 3 weeks as I didn't want to take time off work for it. Can anyone help with a timing question?

Due dates seem to be calculated from LMP which means for 2 weeks you're not actually pregnant. So whilst at the mo I am 21 DPO and would therefore consider myself 3 weeks gone, am I actually 5 weeks in terms of all the advice I am reading? For example I've read morning sickness usually starts around 6 weeks and first scan 12 weeks. Are these using LMP weeks or actual pregnancy weeks? I appreciate these can be different for different people but I'm impatient and can't just wait for these things to happen. Like to have an idea of what might go on when.

Also what does dates like 4+4, 5+5 mean?

Hope that makes sense.

I've tried looking and can't find a thread that answers this so if there is one sorry (and could you give me the link?)

Morechocolate, where you read about weeks it means pregnancy weeks, so weeks from first day of LMP. 4+4 means 4 weeks and 4 days.

It's also my first pregnancy and I am finding myself to be very impatient! Have been for my drs appt today but they only check blood pressure and give advice about folic acid, no smoking, no alcohol. Then it's waiting for midwife to send appt through to you.

Thank goodness you girls have posted! I've literally just logged on to say in freaking out as I have no symptoms whatsoever, it's really worrying me because I feel like something should be happening and I feel completely normal - sore boobs but other than that nothing (

Thanks FairySparkles. I do find that incredibly confusing though. I like things a little more exact I know it sounds weird but adding those 2 weeks on and bringing everything forward by 2 weeks (as I was counting when I would guess conception actually occurred) makes everything seem that much sooner.

LynneK - my only symptoms are the same as AF ones which is a bit scary. Just gotta keep fingers crossed. Though I've seen what some friends have been through and if I remain low on the symptom front I don't think I'll complain.

I definitely don't want morning sickness lol it's horrendous x hope everyone is well. I should be getting referred for a early scan to check my pregnancy is viable and if so on progesterone again ekkk x

Congrats! Danielle when's ur EDD? I know what u mean about the sickness. I was at the docs today and she said to me I was literally 5mins prey so to give it time before I start worrying about symptoms! I'm sure I'm worrying for nothing lol x

Mummy2toddler - that's definitely a good sign, it says in the leaflet that 3+ means 5+ weeks. I tested yesterday and only got 2-3 weeks, I was gutted I thought it was gonna be 3+ gonna test again in a couple of days! Xx

Hello ladies!

I'm tentatively dipping my toe in here, after an early miscarriage last month I fell pregnant on the cycle straight after and am absolutely bricking it that something is going to go wrong.

My EDD is Jan 7th, very few symptoms so far but had sore boobs the last two days and felt every so slightly queesy earlier today. Have been in a fair bit of pain, mostly aches all over my 'lady tummy' area, and an occasional twingey pain. Seeing the doc on friday so hoping he'll refer me for an early scan.

But on a positive note I am now one whole day further along than I got before, and will be thankful for every one of those days I get

Mummy2 and Danielle - I'm so glad I'm here with worriers! I don't think we'll be v gd for one another as worrywarts but hey no! Hahah. I've got a question - does anyone know anything about booking app with the midwife? I've just spoken to my GP today and she will make the referral to the maternity services for me but I wondered what happens now?

Do the maternity services send you a letter/call to make the app? Any advice?
I've moved out of mums but never changed my address and I'm petrified my letter goes to mums and she finds out before I can tell her!!

Yes you will hear off your midwife in a few weeks maybe around 7-9 weeks at a guess I'm not 100% sure. At this appointment it will be your family history if you've had other children miscarriages weight etc etc its about an hour long appointment or so and it's quite boring and you may get your first scan date at this appointment I know I did at mine but depending on area you may get it through the post I think they might do your bloods I can't remember ? I only had my youngest last year lol x

Aw don't be gutted I got 2-3 on Saturday and yesterday got 3+ tonight for the first time. I'm so scared nervous and excited haven't told my oh yet lol xx

Hi and welcome sorry for your loss I've had 2 miscarriages and had my daughter last year so even though I've had my daughter I'm still nervous I know quite a few people who have conceived straight after a miscarriage and they had there children no problems infact they are toddlers now xx

We are all a bunch of worriers aren't we lol x saying that the worrying never ends in pregnancy and it gets worse when they are born worrying lol xxx

No I'm really nervous as we decided ttc again well more me and then we did I've got pregnant straight away but he decided no more cause he's always tired. I found out 8 days ago. With my other 2 I told him the same day lol he's off next week do I tell him then or the week after I need find the right time xxx

Hi All, so pleased to be back on this forum. I got my BFP this morning SO SO HAPPY! Congrats to all

My estimated due date at the minute is 16th January 2015. Will get a clearblue later to try to get an idea of how many weeks I really am, as my cycles had been pretty messed up.
