Me too! My OH and I have been trying for a few years and he was told by two doctors that he might not be able to father children. This is our miracle baby (I nearly fell off the toilet when I saw the positive test) and I'm so, so paranoid. I want to curl up in a ball and wait for the 12 week scan. Trouble with that is that I am still training six days a week for the London Run in July.

Any advice on making it seem real? I have no really noticeable symptoms and didn't even think I was pregnant until the test. I even did a second test because I was sure I imagined the first one by two days later.

I'm a GP and have worked on an EPU in the past so am familiar with the signs. Usually with an ectopic when it get extremely severe it means it has ruptured and is an emergency x

How do I get a pregnancy ticker at the bottom of my posts?

You need to choose a ticker (you can just click on someone else's and find the option to create your own ticker)

Then you need to enter your info, you will get a code (you need the BB code) and then you go to "user CP" (top left hand corner here - grey banner), then go to signature and paste the code in, save and they hey presto!

Hi all

I have an appointment with the midwife tomorrow morning. I went to the doctors early last week to tell them I was pregnant but they didn't really do anything. In fact, they asked why I had come to see them. Anyway they arranged for a midwife to contact me and I am meeting her tomorrow. Can someone tell me what happens during this appointment? I think she said on the phone that I would be having my scan date tomorrow. She said that off the top0 of her head, it is in late june or early July, which I think is a bit early?

Have they said f tomorrow is your booking in appointment? It could just be an appointment to arrange your appointments if that makes sense.

I am a few days ahead of you and my booking appointment is 13th June so I'll be just over 8 weeks and my scan is 9th July and I will be 12w 1d by my dates?

She said I will be getting my scan date tomorrow and that she will get some medical history infromation from me and also a urine sample?

Yep sorry booking appointment is 13th June and scan is 9th July.

Sounds like it could be your booking in appointment.

They do weight / height / urine / BP - also do some blood tests. You and MW start to fill out your pregnancy folder.. she will take family history, your medical history etc and you have to complete bits and pieces like GP's name and address.

Some NHS trusts do things earlier? Some do it when they can fit you in?

You need the dating scan between 11w and 13w 6d if you want to the Nuchal fold part of the scan though.

I've justr had a total freak out! I noticed some slight spotting on my knickers.

It is very small, about the size of a pea, maybe smaller, which is ab light organge/brown colour.

has anyone else had something similar?

It is vfery small so don't know if I'm overeracting?

Blood is always scary but quite a few ladies have spotting and everything is fine. If you go and get checked out they might give you an early scan. There is not really much they can do to help at this stage but it can put your mind at rest.
