cake I think they are classes as for VAT (I cannot remember which way round it is but I think it is that they don't put VAT on cakes but they do biscuits...)

See me and by best mate have a many a debate about this....

Jaffa Cakes are in the biscuit aisle in every super market therefore I say they're a biscuit (she thinks cake).

Also you can buy Jaffa Cake 'Cake Bars' that are in the cake aisle in supermarkets!

I just get confused and eat them anyway! haha

In my professional opinion, the regular jaffa cakes are biscuits, the bars are cakes! They are best eaten when the chocolate is nibbled off the top, the orange jelly removed, the sponge bit eaten and then the jelly eaten alone
