Did you drink milk during IVF and what was the outcome?

My clinic don't give any advice on diet in their booklet and the internet is a minefield! I've read lots of people saying they are drinking a litre of milk a day but I've now read conflicting info that says milk can make your lining slippery and hamper implantation :( I don't know what to do now!

Hey ladie
I Live in Turkey and here A friend of mine told me that drink milk with honey every day
She says Milk with honey would help implantasion
But im not try because I will be make IVF next month

Hmmm it's not attaching but it's says to drink a litre of semi skimmed milk daily through treatment xxx

Oh thanks hun you've put my mind at rest - I've been having just short of a litre a day but only had half today as I was worried. Are you finding that all this water and milk fills you up? My appetite has reduced and I feel like I'm eating for the sake of it sometimes xxx

No probs, if I can attach I will x

I've been the same just under a litre but have been having the 2 litres at least of water but yes I'm also feeling that too, I feel so full up & I'm usually a lover of food lol but mine has also reduced loads xXxX

I haven't been given any dietry advice whatsoever. I didn't know this about milk...I hate milk, it would make me feel physically sick to drink a glass of it. Do you think it counts if its in cereal, porridge, milkshakes? Any other dietry advice you were given? xx

The advice to drink milk is to do with increasing protein content in your diet to help with the number of mature eggs you get. Don't think it should matter how you eat it.

Thanks, I will try my hardest to have more but its going to be so hard. Was you given any other advice on what to eat or drink? Want to do everything right xx

Not really, just to avoid the things you would avoid if you were pregnant.... alcohol, unpasteurised cheese and raw fish etc.

Another question about the milk thing ladies. Are we to start drinking it now or from when we start stims? xx

I still can't attach my picture I think I need to update tapatalk but mine is start of treatment 2 litres of water and the litre of milk but I know it can vary

Mines also eat as if you were pregnant so reduce to no caffeine, no alcohol, no soft cheeses no pate etc x

Thanks Sarah, I stopped caffeine a long time ago and don't drink alcohol anyway so that's good but I wasn't told about the water or milk. I think its impossible to drink that much in one day, my goodness. I am going to try though xx

It does feel impossible, I haven't really had an appetite at all since drinking all that lol x

Have you been managing it then? I mean how many glasses of water is that!! I feel ill even thinking about it, I am hoping the water in tea (caffeine free) counts but I am sure it doesn't. I wonder why I wasn't given this advice xx

Yup I'm peeing a LOT lol
I have a water bottle from aldi which is 2litre so I fill that up each morning and drink through the day with extra at home.

I am sure the water in the tea would be count towards it x

Yeah odd, we had a information leaflet they gave us x

I am going to do that with a water bottle so that I can see what I am having. I am so glad it was brought up on here so that I knew early on, would have been gutted to find out later that I should have been doing this. I might bring it up at my clinic when I go and say I think it would be helpful to have a sheet like that added in the info pack xx

Yeah it's strange how it varies from clinic to clinic! The water is really important to prevent OHSS as well so I'm not sure why it's not set out in black and white for everyone. I've been buying 2 litre bottles of water from Tesco/Asda for 17p and drinking 1 a day to keep it simple. I've started stimming now though and starting to get bloated, all this water and milk isn't helping - I feel constantly full! xx

My risk of OHSS is very low because of having low AMH, I will still drink it though. The milk I am reading conflicting things about, I have acupuncture and I have been reading that acupuncturists don't recommend it! I don't know what to do. If I had been advised by my clinic then I would be inclined to take more notice of them but they haven't. Maybe I will email them and ask one of the IVF nurses.
How's the stimming going? xx

Defo email and ask them Lisey and I think it's worth suggesting that they put it in the info so you have there

How's stimming going browneyed girl? I must admit the whole OHSS does make me a little nervous x
