I woke up this morning to the sound of scratching and movement underneath my bedroom floor  think we have a mouse!!

I'm wondering if it's the same little one that was running around my living room last year while we were watching TV one night. We had the lights off and heard scratching and a ripping noise and when OH put the lights on there was a big tear in the carpet and something had chewed through it!
Whatever it was had been near one of the vivariums because one of the snakes was going wild.

its more likely to be a rat.

OH said that too, not sure i like the thought of a rat running about - a mouse I can just about cope with.

my sister had a rat under her floorboards and in her cavity wall. It drove her to insanitypoor lass. :rotfl:
I told her to look up rats on the internet and she found a page where a rat was jumping baring its teeth which made it worse for her :rotfl:
in the end she got the council who laid some poison down and the rat was found dead a few weeks later. No one would clear it up and its skeletoon are still in the loft to this day. :puke:

rats can get anywhere. They can chew through ANYTHING.

I think what made it worse is our next door neighbour has had all his house ripped out and his floors are up the lot. i reckon it's come from them :D

I heard mice like chocolate so could be worth putting that in a trap as opposed to cheese.

Otherwise get a cat.

They LOVE chocolate and I've never seen them touch cheese. Used to have loads of mice when I was a kid coz we lived on a farm and we had an aviary. I think you can get more humane traps now that catches them rather than kills them.

We have mice in our garden which run over and take the food we put out for the birds, they're very cute but I wouldnt like them in the house!

Star they are gorgeous snakes.

 The pastel was lovely looking.

OH likes the Spider :D

You can borrow my cats. They are EVIL. They bring new meaning to the term 'playing with your food'. It's like the bl**dy killing fields out in my yard. And then they come in licking the blood from their paws acting like butter wouldn't melt, giving me their 'cute' look. I was sat here the other day when I heard the death squeak followed by the crunching of bones. I just closed the door so they couldn't bring me the lungs - which they quite like doing. I heard the 2 little girls who live out the back squealing over something a few months ago and then their dad said, "well it USED to be a mouse". Oh the shame

We had mice a few months ago. We used traps to catch them, we also made our own traps by proping a glass bottle up on the floor (on a folded towel or something) with abit of food in. Make it so the mouse can get in but not get out, it only has to be slightly angled and the mouse cant climb up the slippery glass. Then release him into the wild, or feed him to your snake

Tip: Use peanut butter on mouse traps because they cant snatch it and run off like they can with bread or cheese, they have to hang around to eat and then *snap* hes a dead mouse. Also, make sure you dont have any other food lying around so they have no choice but to eat from the trap.

:? We just put 2 traps down.

It was quite funny because OH wondered how powerful they were

:rotfl: :rotfl: Divvy!
