Is your pregnancy a surprise or planned?

We were kind of planned kind of surprised, started trying 3 years ago and nothing happened so we gave up and came to terms with the fact we maybe couldn't have kids, started planning an alternative life without them like doing our OU degrees and emmigrating, we still weren't using anything as didn't see the point, I'd started discussing with oh at xmas about whether we wanted to see a specialist to see if there were any other options (was completely convinced I was infertile as had never had a pregnancy scare in our 13 years together despite never taking the pill and being pretty lax with other prevention methods, and also had a reason from my past that had convinced me) then for no reason whatsoever one day in Jan I just decided to take a test I'd had in my bathroom from 2 years ago and it was positive!!!! Still in a state of shock tbh he feels like our little miracle and I'm loving every minute:)
most people don't know our struggle so I just tell them it was a surprise if they ask !

bit of both this one same like on my first lol we wanted to try for 3rd but i could not get pregnant because i had the injection and decided i wanted to go to work to bring money in and then fell pregnant lol on harvey my first we really wanted a baby and he was a bit of a shock because we give up trying and when i stoped smokeing i fell pregnant x

Ours was planned but we were both shocked to get pregnant straight away. So far we've only told parents and my work. My mum asked if it was planned and so did my boss. I was really shocked TBH as I really don't think it's an appropriate question to ask. I'm prepared for it now and if anyone else asks when we tell them I'll be telling them straight that I think it's an entirely inappropriate question. Don't mess with a pregnant hormonal woman!

OH and I were asked by his parents if the baby was a mistake and how on earth it happened as they thought I was on the pill (this is our 2nd child, we are getting married and I'm too large for the pill, have never said I was taking it). The reply was for god sake why didn't you take the morning after pill!!! :wall2: I have no idea how I didn't slap them!

Glad I'm not the only one being asked if baby was an accident! Funny cos when I got pregnant with my daughter at 20, after a 4 month whirlwind romance with her dad, nobody asked if she was an accident, and she was a pleasant surprise! I'm guessing nobody needed to ask then!

Mine was a complete suprise - didnt realise intil 11 weeks but couldnt me happier! Quickly adapted and am loving being pregnant - counting the days till the baby arrives :) We have decided not to find out the sex wither so that will be our next suprise!

Wow you didn't realize till 11 weeks! I was so ill there was no doubt what was wrong! My cousin didn't know till 18 weeks either! We're keeping babies sex a surprise too :)

Ye Sarah but I was Ill! Went docs as I had spent 3 weeks being sick and said "this is not a bug its lasted 3 weeks now!" he then asked if I could be pregnant, did a test and gave me the news! I was shocked but once me and my partner got our heads round it we have been so excited. Its the first granchild for both our parents so they are all hyped up as well :)

I think we are in the minority not finding out the sex though x

Lol, funny how we don't always guess and think we have a bug, my friend was the same, thought she had a bug but found out around 8 weeks!
