Is it wrong to ttc a certain sex?

Hi,
ive just started ttc and as i have a lil boy it would be wonderful to have a girl so i have one of each, but i would be very happy with another little boy too. A friend of mine told me she used different methods and had intercourse diff times of the month when trying for a certain sex. Im not saying this is what i will do, but i have to admit ive thought about ttc a girl in particular..is this bad?
Id be interested to hear your thoughts on trying for a certain sex as would not like to ask friends as would feel like they'd think i was not happy with a little boy (if i have one), which isnt the case as i know a healthy baby is most important. Crikey sounds bad when i write it down...but i have to add i would NEVER consider this if i felt in any way id feel upset to have a boy.x

dont feel bad for this, i have heard of different methods and bd'ng at diff times of the month for a particular sex and eating different foods to favour a male or female, at the end of the day there is no harm in trying and you say thet you will be happy with whatever sex you get.

I wouldn't say it was WRONG but it's nigh on impossible.

I've never seen any evidence to suggest anything you do affects what gender you carry.

You just get what you're given!!

i don't think there is anything wrong with this at all hun. I think if your doing all the steps to try for a certain sex , but have prepared yourself the result may go either way then i think its an added bonus to aim for. like you said as long as the baby is healthy it doesnt matter what the sex is but it is ok to want to try for a girl. what will be will be x x x

TTC a certain sex isn't wrong - only if you would be disappointed if it didn't work But we discuss this too - some of us TTCing would prefer a certain sex given the choice - but are happy to roll the dice and take our chances

Nope, i have a little girly and did all i could to try and concieve a boy. if it works it works if it doesnt then no harm in trying. i think low tech methods are perfectly ok (like changes to diet, bding on certain days) as minxy said they arnt invasive and arnt really guarnteed to work.

Thanks for the thread littlered, just read it and it was very interesting..no orgasam when ttc a lil girl-ha ha. Have to admit i may try some of those methods but im not getting hung-up on it.

I take it you mean your hoping your pregnant with a boy this time? Are you going to find out at your next scan? Thanks again.x

yeah hoping im having a little boy this time, tried all the shettles methods, was worth a try at least. If i have a little girl then at least we have loads of pink stuff already. Oh and definatly finding out at the my 20 week scan, last time i got a little surprise so this time its only fair we get to know .
