As above, I thought that the first tri tiredness may have started to tail off a little by now, but it is just getting worse :shakehead:

I am so so tired, I feel like I've finished a night shift and have to stay up all day :(

I nearly cried when my alarm went off this morning! Having slept from about 22.30 til 7.

I have made an appointment with the docs tomorrow because I'm thinking maybe my iron levels are too low or something. The bloke I work with has told me not to bother coming into work beforehand, which at least means I get a lie-in.

I can't function properly at work, I lose concentration really easily and just find myself staring blankly at the screen wondering what it was that I was doing! This may be partially down to boredom now I'm on light duties but I can't carry on this way, it's like my head's up my butt most of the time

Is anyone else like this? It feels like I should not be this tired :eh:

Update:
Went to docs and have been signed off for 4 weeks :faint: he said that's its probably just baby getting much bigger so its using more of my resources. But I've got a blood test for anaemia tomorrow and also having a test for gestational diabetes.

He felt my tum and said that my uterus is in the perfect place for my dates and he got the doppler out and bubs heart beat was flicking between 150-160 bpm which he said was fine.

So there we are, none the wiser yet but should find out in a couple of days if there is anything untoward :eh: x

Yep I feel exactly the same princess, my lack of concentration and ability was even commented on today. My job is really physical and I am so worried about coping, I am finding it really tough at 19 weeks.

Have they not put you on lighter duties due to pregnancy? As soon as I declared my pregnancy I was shifted to light duties straight away. Feeling like this reallyl sucks :-( and is not helping the baby brain lol x

I should be so lucky lol. If things don't improve I'm gonna go to docs and ask for a fit note for lighter duties!

Yes definately, I guess it all kind of depends on the findings of your risk assessment. I had to be moved because our risk is so high. x

I'm exhausted all of a sudden!! It's come on over the last week or two! X

I was tired throughout tri 1 but it was moreso in the evenings so I just had to go to bed early. But now it's lasting all day and it's doing my nut in. I'm not sure if it's because the baby is growing loads and will do up to 20 weeks? I can't cope with this for another 7 weeks :faint: xx

im at 20 weeks and still feeling like it honey :( maybe its our bodies preparing for lo's arrival :) xx

Getting us used to walking round like sleep-deprived zombies you mean? x

You're right going to get your iron levels checked. Although I have to admit that I needed a nap most days when pregnant.

I sleep fine on a night but literally every other day I have to have an afternoon nap, I cannot keep my eyes open!!! having my bloodshed done on thurs for the glucose tolerance test so should have my iron levels checked too, but I think its fairly standard to be tired all the time, its defo worse around a growth spurt!!

I was really tired last time with my daughter, just used to go bed when I got in from work, even went on maternity early, then slept loads but still never went! This time is totally different, I'm full of energy and wake up early after going to bed at midnight, so strange as I'm 15 years older now lol!

My tiredness is creeping back.
I was exhausted in the early weeks of pregnancy, falling asleep everywhere which isn't like me because I love my peace and quiet.

The past few days I've been having naps throughout the day and had to force myself to get up this morning, I even went back to bed until 12pm. Fortunately I'm not working now so I'm loving the lie-ins but it doesn't seem enough, I could sleep now!

Hope you feel less tired soon hun, good idea to go to the doctors! xxx

Im wondering if they will sign me off or do something to help. I'm working 8-4 at the moment rather than my normal variable shift hours so there's no chance of getting any sleep during the day.
At least I know I'm not alone with it. Mum told me to check my bottom eyelids and they are white instead of pink, so maybe I am anaemic

I'm afraid it's par for the course :)
My days are very physical too and it's only going to get worse - calving over 350 cos starting at the end of next month so will have about 3 months of VERY long days, broken nights and early mornings - out in all weathers.... but it has to be done so no point moaning about it. Running around after a two and half year old doesn't help either but hey, it'll be even busier once baby's here so I should really be enjoying this time!!

Eating well, lots of fruit, veggies, and a balanced diet, fresh fish, red meat and chicken will all help. As will your maternity supplements and vit / mins. Sometimes, doing a bit of excercise - walk in the fresh air or a swim can help too.

However tired you feel now..once baby arrives you might be getting 3 hours sleep at a time overnight (if you're lucky!!) - That will give a whole new meaning to tiredness!!! But it is so totally worth it and doesn't last for ever - it just feels like it :)

I know how u feel princess.....I've got into a habit of going back to bed for a few hours after I've dropped wee man off at school.
Next week I'm defo getting out this habit tho, cos I feel like crap when I wake up.
Hope u start to feel more human soon x

I feel absolutely shattered which is not being helped by my DS waking me up at 5.15am everyday for the last few weeks. Its driving me NUTS and I'm not in the best mood to say the least!

My diet is fairly balanced, i think! Lol. And I am going to step up the exercise but it's hard to get motivated when I'm this wrecked. I bet it'll be tenfold once baby arrives :oooo: but I am good at functioning in very little sleep normally which is why this tiredness has knocked me for six :( x
