Jenna I have never heard of people taking their fitted wardrobes - surely thats the point - they are fitted!!! I think you are very wise to get it written down they will make good the walls.

We just had our whole house carpeted (well all except 2 rooms) its a 4 bedroom and with the underlay and fitting it cost us £1200 - that was 80/20 wool mix. If you look around there are some really good deals out there.

when we sold our house i took all the plants, i spent a fortune on them over the years and this new house didnt have any plants being a new build. and the light fittings as they can be pricey some costing up to £100 each but you have to re fit a ceiling rose.


I dont agree with removing fitting like wardrobes surely on the house details it was advertised as bedroom with fitted wardrobes? so they cant remove them i wudnt have thought.

carpets though... you can buy them off cuts and they work out really cheap or if u look for carpet fitters in local paper they can normal buy carpet at trade price and come fit it for half the price of buying from a retailer.

hi jenna they people out of our house didnt even leave light bulbs and like u say took plants out of the garden they even changed raidiators becuse they were nice silver ones in 2 rroms and they changed them for plain white ones and the other thing they did that annoyed me was they said they were leaving the fridge which they did but not the one they had in the house i think they bought and old rubbish one from somewhere which we eneded up throwing away, we werent even left witha vurtain rail

Aparently there wanting to sell us some gardening stuff but weve already got loads of stuff, DH is going to ask them about the carpets but isnt going to offer them anything.

Im not really bothered about anything in the house, there wasnt really anything i would have loved to have but it would have just made moving a bit easier. Its all going so fast now, wont be long till we have a move in date

I think carpets are a pain in the arse anyway. When LO's are 0 to about 18 months they are great for crawling and walking but once they start tearing around and spilling things carpets are dirt magnets. Give me wood and rugs anyday

i can understand why people take their plants, it might be that they planted a rose bush on the 1st wedding anniversary, or to mark the passing of a pet, or a child,

people will take fitted wardrobes because they can refit them in a new house or sell them on ebay.

check your inventory, if wardrobes, light fittings and plants are included they will have to replace with something else. (which if they do its bound to be a peice of cr*p from a car boot sale!!!

Remember though it can work in the opposite way too! All the original cast iron fireplaces were boarded up in our house so we got far more than we bargained, and paid for! They are worth thousands. The sellers obviously never realised they were there hahaha

I would take my favourite plants or maybe cuttings from them, but I'd have enough to do without digging up the whole garden to take with me

If theyre new and a neutral colour say, that go with the house then ask how much theyd want for it.

If not, your better just getting your own in a colour u like and want

Our place left all the carpets but they're pretty awful to be honest they're cream and really soft and thick but they're dirty. I'm gonna try to get a carpet cleaner from work to see if it'll make them any better because it would be cheaper than whole new carpets.

When we moved from our old house when I was younger we asked for money for our carpets because they were about 2 months old and cost a fortune. Think it cost about £1500 to buy and fit them etc so we asked for a 1000 for them and the people were happy to pay for them. If they're brand new then sometimes it's easier just to pay a bit for the carpets.

The people at our new house have left quite a bit really. They even left some curtains and all the blinds etc which I thought was nice of them. Every curtain pole stayed and they are gorgeous! We paid them £250 for their fridge freezer and washing machine and they are both near enough brand new and still in warranty! So I was pleased with that. Shame they left all their dirt as well!
