Is Beetroot ok for my 9 month old? Conflicting info online

I'm sure my little one had a bit of beet root at that age. He tried everything! It stained the high chair, his clothes, his face ...
He loves strong tasting things though, he'd eat a lemon if I let him. It did make his poo a tiny bit red though which made me panic thinking it was blood!! Xxx

One of the recipes I've found for vegan babies (7-9 months) has beetroot in, mixed with potato to make it go pink! So should be fine
