Iron Levels

Hi All,

When i went for my 28 week appointment i had a full blood count done, I have just logged into my online maternity notes and noticed the results are there.

My level at booking in was 128, now it is 111.

Will they class me as anemic or is this level ok?

I have my 31 week appointment next Wednesday.

It is normal for iron levels to drop in pregnancy. Mine were dropping too. 111 is a good level. After birth my levels were 80 which meant anemic and I had blood transfusion twice. If you are still worried ring the docs X

I am seeing the midwife next week so I will wait until then, but I just wanted to see what others had as their levels

I'm pretty sure 110 is the borderline. I can check my notes later which has the definite numbers in. Last pregnancy I was 108 which was just under but midwife didn't give me anything she said at that number if I ate a bit more iron rich foods I'd be fine. This pregnancy I'm 114 which is fine

I got told I was mildly anemic after my 28 week bloods so has been put on iron tablets. Not sure what my level was but will find out and compare to yours.

Common side effect of iron tablets is constipation but so far so good!
