Introduction

Hey all, thought I would join you all in here and say hello.
I've only recently (about 3 months) been actively TTC. The method so far has really been nothing more than to bed as much as possible around the obvious times!.. very enjoyable indeed I must say!
However, I would now like to work on a more involved method.
My CM doesn't seem to hold a great amount of clues so I currently do not know when I ovulate.

My main question is... I am basing on about 14 day, can this vary enormously? I have a pretty regular 28 day cycle.

Another question.. anybody else a little more mature? I am in my early 30s, but my partner is in his late 40s and I am wondering whether this could possibly cause issues. From googling it would appear not.

Oh, another thing. I have been pregnant twice before, both ended in miscarriage. Fingers crossed for the next time!

Welcome to pf! 28 days is a very good regular cycle. However the best thing to do is to buy the ovulation predictor kits and start using them from say day 10 until you get a line or smiley face. When u get this you know you are about to ovulate so that is the best time to try. Also use the legs up approach after sex, and perhaps some supplements like pregncare. You can buy ovulation kits from amazon for cheap. Good luck. Xxx

This is our first cycle TTC after our loss in February, and hubby is so keen he has bought me a fertility monitor! However, I would agree with Gizzy and get yourself some opk's from Amazon. You may not ovulate mid cycle and could be missing that egg. I have a 29-32 day cycle and usually ovulate around day 10-12. We are also using conceive plus lube, which you can also get online - useful if your CM is not abundant. Lots of ladies on her also monitor their basal body temperatre, but id go with the opk's, lube and legs up after bd'g Good luck!xx

Hello & welcome hungry heart Im sure youll fit right in here!

If you dont know when you OV there are some different ways to check, or you could do all of them if you wish!

* Using opks (this cycle I bought a bunch of cheapies & digis to back up OV with)
* Monitoring cycle dates
* Checking cervix position (CP)
* Checking cervical mucus (which you do sort of do already)
* Checking body tempreture

Also, if you are unable to tell when OV is due to the fact you dont have a lot of CM or none atall or even just for something extra you should try preseed lube or C+ lube, both mimic CM and nurish the sperm, alot of ladies swear by it
