Mines from ikea think it was £700 for everything everyone always say how nice it is xxxx

Well my hubby and I have just bought a new house which is massive so money is really tight, the kitchen was unbearable! So I got my thinking cap on! I got black high gloss sticky back plastic from wilkos its 5 per roll and comes in lots of colours, and used this to cover the doors. Each one takes loads of effort to make sure neat and no bubble. Then bought new handles and attached. Painted the horrible tiles in gloss white, basic - know and theb off ebay got tile transfers I liked and put these arount. Then painted. Walls. I went for red and got red kitchen accessories. All I now need to buy is a new kitchen work surface as u can't really do anything cheap to make them look better!!!! But my kitchen looks fabby!!! X

Hi,

I have just read what you said about the sticky back plastic you bought from wilko. I assume you are talking about Wilkinsons?
The reason i ask is that this is exactly what I am looking for as i have moved and the kitchen has horrible Terracotta colour doors that I would like to change to High gloss finish without the high gloss BILL , and i have not been able to find them on Wilkinson's website.

that sounds fab. i would do that but ive got horrible handles attached to the door, part of them. dam it.

A good and fairly cheap way to make tired cabinets bearable is painting them. There are some good tutorials on how to do it on the web :)
