I just did 10 minutes on my exercise bike

I have been very slack as originally I was going to use it every day - however, I have made a pact with myself that I will do from now on! Even ten minutes is going to help right?

I might even try and slot some yoga in too :)

That's good going RM!! There was some program on tv recently suggested that shorter bursts of exercise were actually better than the 30 mins. Not sure how accurate and whatever but 10 mins on a bike is better than 10 mins on the sofa!! :yay:

Its so easy to think 'ill do it tomorrow' - I have to make the effort for my own good, I remember how terrible I felt being so overweight after having Rosie, I couldnt get a size 18 jeans on - having always been a 12/14 this made me feel seriously down about myself.

Good to get those endorphins going too! Try and balance out those scary pregnancy moods. I opted to walk to the end of the road to vote the other day with my OH, omg, I'm still suffering for it, really bad idea!! I was thinking I might go down to our gym for a 'float', better than nothing.

Thats a great idea, I love the water although my maternity costume is a bit small around the bum area - I have piled on some weight on my hips in the last couple of weeks, Im telling myself its for breastfeeding purposes!

aw i'm the same, i keep trying to exercise but i always think 'i'll do it tomorrow..' lol! so lazy  i've been trying to walk aswell megs but i'm the same! feel like i've just done a marathon! swimming seems like the best exercise as it's so weightless! xx

I'm only allowed to 'float' because of my pelvis, is that still exercise  Just think when our babies arrive it'll be a lovely summer, I'm really looking forward to long walks with baby and dog in tow. Lets hope we get some sunshine!

aw i know, i'm so glad i wont be in the middle of pregnancy during summer - i'm already finding it uncomfortable heat wise and it's not even that hot!

walks with baby and dog in tow sounds lovely! i really want a doggyy xx

lol! well i been in scotland before and it's not the warmest of places :P no i think it's 'cause i live in high rise flats at the min and it's so hot in them :(! x

Well done RM! 10 mins def better than nothing!

I have been walking everyday but finding myself getting out of breath quickly lately so slowing down. Before I fell pregnant I was running 3 times a week and doing a spin class twice a week so im really missing it! x

Im REALLY missing running, that freedom and time to yourself - can't get that anywhere else!

oh yeah, I used to run. although where I live now is so hilly, think I might have to drive somewhere to start my running again! Well done you for getting onthe bike, our cross trainer is gathering dust since we moved, I keep telling myself I MUST get on with it. Now Im in the last trimester Im gonna really push to get healthy. :)

well done you! am very impressed... I can't do anything at the mo. The slightest little thing is leaving me breathless - am trying to get out walking with OH but everything just feels so heavy! Am persevering though as like you said, anything has got to be better than nothing! Keep up the good work xxx

Thanks RakRak - I am going to try and keep going, some days Im mega tired and running around after Rosie takes up most of my time, I might try and set ten minutes in the mornings to do it :)

Well done RM! Once you make that first start you will be off.

Myself and two other mums, are going to bournemouth on the train on the 16th august, we all have the day off work to take the kids.

We decided that we would all walk, run or cycle there (imaginary) by the time we go. The others email me every morning at work and let me know what distance they have done the night before , I do mine in the morning as that's the only way I do it. (takes me 38 mins to do 4K , so like a fast walk, but burns 400 cal!!!

Then I mail out a spreadsheet, we call it the Bournemouth Leader Board, and change the placings of 1,2 and 3 to suit who's in the lead. One lady is running and the other is cycling 10K in 20 mins so she said she is oing there and back for ger target.

I works a treat as all of us are having to admit what we did or didn't do!
I used to play ice hockey for england and the south but had sat on my backside for the last two years. so decided not to do running and do walking so I can continue all way through any potential pregnancy, as I'm rubbish if I stop and start. RM - what about you set your self the london marathon, to cycle and print a pic of the route, ~(there are some good ones online) and move you pin along as you go, good for motivation.

Wow thats a really good idea, I used to follow a Nike training plan when I did a 10km, my first race - I found it really helpful and easy to do.

I have tried to stay as active as I can so far this time, when I was preg with Rosie I was still working, living in the heat of Western Australia - had a promotion and ended up working in my own air conditioned office; a perfect opportunity to snack all day whilst working and sitting down! Then I finished working to fly home and spent the rest of my pregnancy nursing SPD and fluid retention, so bad that I couldnt see my ankles/real size of my legs!

I am so looking forward to running properly again, we have the Adidas 5km training track in the Forest of Dean, its a killer - the first 2/3rds are uphill but so good for getting back in the saddle.

Good luck with your fitness, it sounds as if you are going to do a great job through your 9 months! xx

Thanks RM, keep up the good work you started on that bike, even just 10 mins a day as pregnant as you are, will be a big difference and later to your bodys recovery
