Ideas on how to tell people your pregnant

Hey ladies

I know some of you have only found out your pregnant and are probably looking for cute/unique ways to tell people your wonderful news. so i thought id start a thread where people can put their ideas so others can be inspired.

ok this is my idea (might only work with later pregnancy though!)
As soon as your get you first scan ask for a scan picture. Take the scan picture down to a printing company and ask for it to be made into a jigsaw with the words "we're pregnant/ I'm pregnant" on it somewhere. Then take it to the person you want to tell and ask them to do the puzzle, see how long it takes them to work it out!
The good thing is you can keep the puzzle as a keepsake or give it to your baby when they are old enough to play with it !

When we told my parents we took them out for dinner and just before the food arrived I said, "oh I've got a present for you both" I handed Mum a box, in it was a silver plated dummy and a note saying, "To Granny and Grandad, I can't wait to meet you in January"
My Mum threw it up in the air in delight and it nearly hit the people behind us My Dad was sitting there thinking what the hell is going on
Then when the waitress arrived we were all sitting there hugging and in tears. It was really lovely though and they were chuffed with their present and still have it

Thats a really cool idea.

When I told my fella I just rang him. Not that he believed me at first because I couldnt stop laughing.

Sadly we wanted to wait to tell everyone but when I was 6 weeks I started bleeding with cramp and I needed my mum to loook after Leah while we went hospital. Then we had to get Marks mum down to look after Leah because my mum had to go out.

What away to tell people your pregnant but also give them bad news at the same time. Wish things had been different, but bubby was ok and thats all that mattered.

I like the jigsaw idea. That would be really memorable.

I told my mum by giving her the pregnancy test. At first she thought it was a pre-pay electricity top-up key. She then ran up to tell my dad who turned white as he thought it was my mum that was pregnant.

Still thinking of a good way to tell friends. xxx

I told my Gran & Grandad last week, we stuck a scan photo in a card for them... took them a while to figure out what it was as they didnt really have scans in their day they were over the moon

When i get pregnant with my next one, i think i might tell the grandparents by getting Evie a t-shirt printed with "im going to be a big sister " on the front and " My little brother or sister is coming on (babys due date)" on the back, and maybe a scan photo on it somewhere too. I think its a really cute idea .

I think the dummy and the jigsaw are both great ideas, you've all got me thinking now, i will have to try and come up with something.

I feel the specialness if you like has been taken out of me telling my parents as we have been going thru ivf for the last 2 years and my mum and dad both know which means all my sisters know as we have a big family and you cant keep anytihng a secret , my best friend knows so I feel a bit sad that I am not getting the chance to say IM PREGNANT to them. My oh parents dont know so we have got that to look forward too. I was thinking maybe just a simple card but i suppose thats a bit boring

my parents knew first. told my mum via text thinki or showed her scan. told my dad on msn but coldnt quite get teh words out he finally guessed but i just couldnt say im pregnant after in 05 having a mc.
sent him the scan pic on msn think thats how i told him well confirmed it

told him to keep it from the family and told my mum to keep it from my nan till a better date when i knew evrything was fine kept it from them till couple months later lol.dad told my family , mum think told my nan or i did. my oh told his parents xmas day cause his mum was trying to get me to have some wine and i didnt feel like any or want any. so he told her im pregnant and her sister was here and husband in same room.Just she kept on as it was xmas day and i kept refusing which was unlike me lol.i was getting stressed at one point lol

my other nan kinda guessed apparently but didnt say till she told my dad and my dad told me

loooking forward to the birth, but next time i get pregnant im not gonna say nothing to them cause hopefully we will have our own place by then and i can do it a different way with scan pic.

good ideas u guys have come up with

im thinking buying craft cards and sticking scan in card in the window so they see it when they take it out of envelope and sticking inside loooking forward to seeing u soon or something dunno what words yet as plenty of time and decorate card with babys stickers and baby craft stuff

might go get some so i have the stuff to hand

Everyone found out or guessed befreo i had the chance to tell them!

My very clever friend though, made up some cards on the computor with a bean on the front! and just put a message inside explaining she was pregnant etc, and she said it was funny and people rung her up congratulating her etc.She said it was lovely.

lol, mine isnt that original, but i planned to tell my sister by having a look round babies r us and saying "hmm, guess im gona have to start saving up for when this baby's born in february" didnt quite happen like that tho...

we had just got into the shop when she said "dont go buying anything now, theres no point until you're actually pregnant"

then i said " what makes you think im not"

she got all defensive and said dont joke its not funny! lol i cudnt supress a giggle then tho and she got all excited and started hugging me in the middle of the shop lol was a nice moment even tho it didnt quite go as planned

mine wernt so original .. with Kiyanna every1 found out because i was sick so my mom phoned in sick from school and took me to the doctors and got a positive .. think i would prefere 2 go back 2 being 14 at school than 2 see the look on my moms face again lol
with Elise i told my brother over msn .. wrong thing 2 do as my other brother was there and went back 2 my mom .. evn tho i said not 2 because i wanted 2 tell her! lol

I told my brother and his girlfriend, by phoning him up and saying I have a really big favour to ask can we come round (I knew he would think I wanted to borrow some money).
So when I got there I said I have this huge favour to ask, and his girlfriend said how much lol and I said NO will you be and Aunty and Uncle!!
I thought that was a fun way to ask.
I just told my parents staright out, but had to wait as they were on holiday so wanted to tell them face to face, that was the longest two weeks of my life.
I just told my grandparents they are all going to be great grandparents!!!
Haven't told our friends yet we are waiting until the first scan.
