i heard my baby!

Went on my 16 weeks appointment today with the midwife..
For the first time did i hear my babys heartbeat.. it was amazing.. and suddenly this different noise over and over again and she told me it was the baby kicking in there.. i had tears in my eyes!
All tests came back clear and everything was fine..

The also tried to organise my 20 weeks scan but i still have to wait for the date..

On my way back i sooo fancied a fag (been a smoker for 11 years never given up before).. i did cut down as soon as i found out i was pregnant and have not smoked everyday. But since its been 9 days now since the last one i moved away from that part of the shop and bought some strawberries and a melon instead! yeah! was so proud of my self when i got home.

That's amazing about the hb and kicks! Have you felt anything yet- I've not felt anything and with lack of symptoms or a bump am beginning to feel kinda unpregnant!

I dont think i have felt anything yet.. sometimes i feel its like a little buble or something but how would you know if its the baby when its my first. I got a bump, its nice when you are home but as soon at its time to get out i cant find any clothes that look good as its too tight..

Did you have alot of symptoms earlier on tho?

I've been exactly the same, smoked for ten years and have managed to cut down but had the odd one now and then, im on day 6 without today!

Awww Congrats on hearing the heart beat!! Its amazing!! I had to buy a monitor & I was addicted until it started moving

well done on the quitting!! Must be sooo hard! Proud of all you women who quit!! I never smoked... But i've heard it's like giving up chocolate!!! Hard!!

I just thought to my self last sunday.. Would i do anything for this baby? YES Does it mean most in the world to me? YES so why cant i stop smoke?
And that was it.. have not had 1 yet.. before that i managed 4 days without at most so fingers crossed this time!

aww thats good i cant wait to go see my midwife again i go to see her on the 5th of may this will be the 2nd time hopefully i will hear my baby heartbeat.

Totally agree with you on that! Even when i did have the odd one, i felt terrible pangs of guilt afterwards.

Unfortunately i have not been as good as you in replacing the cravings with fruit, i end up eating half a tub of icecream!!
