Noa have had a bad cold so the last 2 weeks we have been up 4-5-6 times. The problem is i dont really know what he wants when he wakes up?
Cuz if i try to settle him back, its very rarely it works and after hes been crying for a bit i take him up n feed him. He eats maybe for 2 min, i try to keep him awake to feed properly but he goes straight to sleep on my boob n i can put him in his cot n hes sound asleep. But hes accually not hungry as he dont eat much. (once a night he eat properly)
can he just be thirsty? does he just want to feel me there? he can see me from his cot and that normally just makes it worse! hes not cold, not to hot ( i have tried everything! ) only thing that works is few minutes boob!! n now when his cold is better i dont want him to get used to me picking him up 5-6 times every night!

what does he want?

Omg Isla is exactly the same. She's waking up and I naturally just feed her but I know she can go longer than 3 hours so I'm wondering wether to just settle her. I'm tempted to try a dummy but DH isn't interested.

Maybe he needs something more than milk? X

maybe he doesn't know what he want's, maybe he just needs comforting cos he feels ill x

yea i dont mind aslong as it dont gets to be just a habbit for him..

It has got a bit of a habitforoscar. Since he was I'll a few months ago, he stirs all night if he isn't attached to my boob!

I had a similar problem. So the dummy came out and now she sleeps for 8 solid hours in a row. If she stirs I give her dummy and she's then back to sleep. Simples :)

My boys were always exactly the same when they weren't well, but as soon as they were better they'd go back to normal at nights - if it's getting him back to sleep I wouldn't worry about him getting used to it. Hope he's better soon

Love your avatar  x

I think Sophia is the same (not helped by mil shoving and holding her fists in her mouth), so now i think she wants something in her mouth all the time. She doesn't like dummies, so it's me!

Don't worry should just be when oa has his cold, they can't breathe or cough and wake up and must be scarey for them. Devon has been full of cold and we have just got back to normal phew, he is fine as long as I am holding, feeding him..

Hope Noa feels better soon

I think they want comfort too :) Matt calms down as soon as I put him in bed with me!

it was the same last night but after 4 he slept to 9.30!!! wohoo! i think hes still a little poorly.

Perhaps he can't breathe very well. Perhaps try that vapor plug in you can get it in the baby sections at supermarkets or ask at the chemists. My boy had a cold last week and couldn't breathe. This seemed to help.

Bless him, i hope he's feeling better soon Hun!

How is he now Hun? Charley stirs quite abit during the night but only needs 1 feed, it's mostly habit so I give him his dummy and he goes straight back to sleep!

last night he only woke up 2 and then 6 so it was fine but hes been crying most of the day. That injection on tuesday really messed him up, hes not been him self since and it breaks my heart. He have hardley smiled since..

Is that the 3rd lot? Charley wasn't right for about a week after his then was fine for a week and now has this "thing" whatever it is wrong with him!
I gave charley calpol to help him after his jab's cos he was so windgy and not right for a week after!
