Brooke always seems to be a week ahead of herself, so this week when she should be having 4oz 5 times a day, she'll have her 4oz then an hour later want an extra ounce. She also likes to pick all morning and will often have an ounce at 930, 1030 & 1130. She also won't go much longer than 3 hours between feeds even when given more (yes, she is a little piggy!) She is demand fed so I am happy to feed her whenever she is hungry, but I'm wondering if I switched her to the hungry baby milk (we're currently on Aptamil First) would it sustain her a little more? Thinking of nighttimes as well as she is beginning to be a bit picky through the night and the other night wanted 2oz every 2 hours!
I know it's still early days with her and she'll find her own routine when she's ready so I'm just thinking about keeping her full really!
Any advice appreciated xx

She might be going through a growth spurt.
I put Lacey on hungry baby and the only thing it did was made her constipated!
Maybe up brooke's bottles x x

Thanks Chaz, I think it is a growth spurt, I offered her an extra oz earlier & she took it. Will lay off the hungry baby stuff then, don't want a constipated baby! X

i switched my son onto hungary milk it helped as he was having 70mls every hour and it was driving me nuts.. it did make him consipated but my HV gave me some advice on it I tried water and when that didn't work I made up one bottle with a scoop missing in the morning that helped, but its up to you. If she takes it better and goes longer then its great. Also have you tried giving her water inbetween feeds to make her wait longer so she will have a bigger bottle? I tried it but my little man never drank more than 150mls ever and still doesn't now at 7 months S:

get some advice about what age to put baby on the Hungry Baby formula, something in my mind says about liver/kidneys and them not being able to process it properly....my friend had the same situation recently...just check if you can hun first as your baby is still very young hey xxx

you can give hungary milk from birth hun/....?

I definitely noticed a difference when I changed Odhrán to hungry baby, he took less and went longer x

And like others say check it out first, I spoke to my MW before I done it x

My boys been having up to 6oz a feed from 2 weeks! midwife said don't use the extra hungry stuff as its the old style milk justr re marketed so they can still sell it, its not as good for baby and there is no harm in feeding them more at this age :) xx

My Lo has been on hungry baby from 4 weeks he was constantly drinking and always more than suggested hungry baby milk really helped and he was only constipated for about a day. To me it was great and he was still drinking the recommend amount so I was happy.

Yeah I thought it was ok to do hungry milk from birth til my mate said she was going to try it and the HV said not to that he was too young at 4 weeks. But you know what its like...one says one thing and another says another thing dont they hey. AND to be fair, I only breastfed my LO so its all new to me and I will definatley be looking into the different formulas xxx

I wouldn't worry too much about a few weeks difference in what LO is doing to what the packaging says is the normal, we are all different and grow and feed at different times. Do what feels right for you, although I would maybe see if there ate different methods of satisfying LO before trying the hungry baby formula as I have heard that it is remarketed stuff too :flower:
