Hi lovely people.

I had my hsg test this morning and all is normal. We have an appt 30th Jan. I was just wondering what happens next from anyone who is ahead in the infertility clinic journey....was told my linning looks nice and thick and I am ovulating from my right side this time.My other tests have all been normal and DH SA was better than average and was told it was 'excellent'

Thank you in advance :)

My hsg was normal too. Next was the internal scan which was also normal. After that we were sent for ivf.

There is still time for a bfp before ivf though xx

The did a internal scan during my hsg which showed the womb etc and all looked okay. Do they just do a more detailed internal scan?

It's so frustrating when everything is normal and it's not happening. I guess we have to just keep trying ...and trying while we wait for ivf

Hmm I don't think so. Nope. I only had 1 internal ultrasound scan and no other tests after that until the ivf clinic.
Of course this could be different where you are.

Yes it is frustrating.. every test I've had under the NHS has been normal. :/

I guess they don't call it unexplained infertility for nothing. I think it's the worst....nothing to fix? I just hope my wee rainbow will appear soon and if not I hope IVF brings us our bundle of joy. Still got hope, still not giving up

On the one hand, I'm glad the hsg was normal but on the other hand I understand it's not even slightly reassuring. Mine was normal too. I would expect that you would probably go on the waiting list for IVF. I say this as that's what I'm expecting from our next appointment.

I'm not sure if we'd also be considered unexplained now. We've had several fixable problems, all of which have been resolved now. Each time we were given the 'you'll probably fall naturally now' but of course we're still not pregnant and just been left with false hope and shattered dreams. I'm interested to know what the new clinic's take on it is as everything is now normal on paper and has been for a while.

I havent haven't had the internal scan yet so maybe get that next. Do you get iui 1st before ivf?. I just want to get my name onnthe waiting list now so at least every month that goes by we aren't pregnant its a month closer to ivf. I would hope we will get our natural bfp soon if it was ever going to happen . They used a ultrasound and a internal scan to see the dye on my hsg

I'm not sure. IUI has never been mentioned to us. Will soon see when we get to the clinic. I think they would want to scan you fairly soon. I keep getting told we can start IVF 'right away' once we're referred. Will soon see how true that is.

I was never offered iui. It has lower success rates so maybe that's why they just skip straight to ivf?

Moomingirl, as long as all your blood tests and your oh's sa are fairly recent (within the last year) you should be able to start quite quickly. My hubby had to repeat his sa and I had to wait a month because my smear was due. After those were all done it was straight into it!

I had heard IUI doesn't have much better odds than trying naturally. Not sure if that's right though. It's never been mentioned to us. All our tests are very up to date as the new clinic needed them all within 6 months. Hopefully you're right about getting straight to it!! Everywhere is so different so I try not to get my hopes up.

Yeah I think they tell you its 1 year where we are going but ends up being quicker. They do offer iui where I go so not sure. Our tests all started in July and SA was AUG I think so within 6 months so far but will go out with 6 months soon!

A girl I know had hormone mapping down amd showed her prolactain was too high onhibiting ovulation ...but then she fell pregnant surprisingly ! Could you still have a high progesterone but not ovulate? How do you know for sure you ovulate? Im worried something small like an imbalance could be our issue? Or just something breaking the chain of events ? It's a mind field

As far as I know, I think if your day 21 progesterone is high enough then you ovulated. In my experience with high prolactin, I wasn't getting periods and definitely wasn't ovulating and if I had got a day 21 progesterone, it most likely would have been abnormal. Some people do ovulate despite high prolactin and still catch. I think it's a bit like those ladies who catch unexpectedly when they're breastfeeding.

I wasn't sure if your body could produce the hormone progesterone but you still dont ovulate. Im going to write all these queations down for my next appt.

Sorry for hijacking the thread in advance, but what is IUI? Insemination?
My main language isn't English so I don't know all the ttc terms ^^
