Yet again I am up at 4am changing a soaking wet baby :x
Am I putting them on wrong or something as this is so common, sometimes in the day, usually at night, but then OH sometimes puts the nappy on and it sodding leaks too :x :x :x

Info on pampers website in their Q&A section
"Can you tell me why the Pampers nappies I am using have suddenly started to leak? I have used Pampers for many months, but now find that after changing my baby, he/she is soaking wet one hour later."

We are very sorry to hear that you’ve had a problem with our product, and it is of great concern to us that you did not get the outstanding absorbency and comfort we would expect. A leaking nappy is often the sign that you need to move up one size. It is therefore important to make sure you are using the most suitable size and type for your baby. All babies are different shapes, even if they are the same weight and therefore our nappy sizes overlap. It might be worth trying a different nappy i.e. if you are using a Baby-Dry, your baby might be better suited to a Premium or vice versa.

Well no actually. I use pampers baby dry 4 for 15-44lb or 4+ for 20-44lb. He's 20lb so doesnt need to go up a size. We put them on tight enough, check everything is snug on the leg :?

His cotton ones wouldnt last a night hence why we use pampers so I can get some bloody sleep! Yesterday I had to strip him 3 times because of leaking nappies.

What am I doing wrong???? Jeeez you'd think I'd know how to put a nappy on by now!

do u tuck is *eh hem* little winkie down? if its facing up the nappy will leak. also have you tried using a bigger nappy size for nighttime? maybe hes a heavy wetter?

I hate pampers!! I always get leaks with them. Sometimes my local shop only stock the pampers ones and I am guarenteed to get a soaking wet little girl in the morning.
Have you tried Huggies. I find them really good, or Tescos own brand. Asda's own ones always leak too!

i use cloth so i have no idea sorry!

Stanley pees for England and the only thing that works for us is a heavily boosted cloth nappy with a wool (not PUL) cover :D

I still have problems with Taylor, hes 9 months especially when he poos it goes all over his back soaks onto his clothes and everything. i use pampers, newborn were brilliant and that is about it! Ive got huggies at the min, there elastacated at the back so they fit well, pampers have a great gap at the back when he is sat up! :?

you may be using a nappy that is too small or too big

Thats what I find - they give Arianna a builders bum!!

Nathans not to bad and they usually don't leak but when Aimee wears pampers they always leak, usually out of the legs. They fit her fine so i think it must be the pampers cos tescos and huggies never leak.

I agree with budge, they sound too big or too small.I have no problems with pampers at all.

Theyre the right size for weight budge. We make sure winky is down, the leg bits arent folded in on themselves, I line the kid up dead straight, have tried the nappy tighter and looser but still doing it

Bollocks to it I'm going to try tescos!

im sorry minime but that creased me up!!

i love that you line the kid up well. try using a spirit level next time to make sure he is straight. :rotfl:

try some different nappies hun. i used to use all sorts. i found pampers the best but tried asdas and boots and they were fine.

have u ever thought of using cloth nappies? no leakage/explosions then chick????

asda's are brilliant.. and they are very cheap compared to top brands.. in fact i never used pampas until she was in pull ups and foudn that pampas leaked.. they were rubbish... it was either huggies or asda

I've obviously got all this to come.

But everyone i talk to rave on about tesco's own.

minie - what cloth nappies do you use? could you perhaps boost them with some microfiber or something?

I got a sample of night time nappies in the post a week or two back. Far too big for newborn but have thrown them in the back of the nappy draw for now - perhaps try something specific to night time wetting? Dry Nites are they called? Not sure about their sizing etc but they should be more absorbant? I've got all this to come in a week or two so have no idea really.

Pampers are cr*p...sorry...but for some babies...especially for Tia they were absolutely useless...and constantly leaked. I think it has to do with baby bum shape...

I used either Huggies (wow...expensive or what???) or my favorite were Asda's own...as they were as good as Huggies but a fraction of the cost.

Try another brand hun...it's obvious that its the brand and not the way you are putting the nappies on.

i hate baby dry

pamper active fit are loads better, they are more expensive but last loads longer
Harley has been in size 5 since he was 7months old

I find Pampers ok but it might be worth you trying a different brand to see if it makes a difference. I think that Huggies are good and Tesco nappies are worth a try. Jake is 16lb 4oz by the way and in size 3 (up to 20lb) nappies. I find that I can't go by the weight guide with Jake though because so far all of the nappies have fitted Jake quite a bit longer than what they say as although he is fairly tall he is slim.

I went through a stage where Euan was wet every morning and I was using pampers-I have found Huggies much better for him but I have to say that I don't think you can say one brand is better than the other because pampers worked really well for my first little man.
