Hi!
My morning sickness has gradually been getting worse and worse over the last few weeks but yesterday and today is just crazy! i cant keep anything down at all, not even water! is this dangerous? this morning i managed to have a ginger tea which makes me feel a bit better, but still no food at all! im totally exhausted. it was an absolute mission just to get out of bed any try to have a shower! i guess im just worried about not keeping in enough fluids. any one had the same problem??

I was told by my gp that being sick more than 3 times a day was worrying. They can prescribe tablets to stop you being sick that are safe for use in pregnancy.

If you can't keep fluids down i would contact your gp asap! I don't want to worry you but not being able to keep food down is not too dangerous but lack of fluids is. The dr told me if i couldn't keep fluids down they admit you to hospital and put you on a drip to rehydrate you.

Hope I haven't worried you too much and that you are better soon!

hun definitely get yourself down to your drs they can help you and it'll save you stressing yourself out. Take care. x

poor you!! .... With Ellis I was sick every 30 mins and in bed for about 3 day. NHS direct told me it was dangerous when you get dehydrated... check with the skin on the back of your hand if you pinch and the skin takes a while to fall you are dehydrated.

I ended up going in to hospital at 8 weeks as i was being sick blood, as i had nothing left in my belly. I was given an anti sickness injection (which is not proven it will help or harm baby but i was told i was so dehydrated i was harming the baby anyway) then i was put on a drip for about 2-3 days.

I really feel for you hun, try the website http://www.hyperemesis.org.uk .... also lemonade is good for sickness if you cant keep water down! sip it slowly xxxxxxxx

Thanks everyone for your advice. im feeling much better today. i havent been sick yet and ive been trying to drink lots of water and i even managed to have some chicken soup! maybe it was something i had eaten that was making me so unwell? not sure, but im so glad that i feel better today cause yesterday was awful!

Hi,

I'd check with the doctor if it continues past 15wks. I was signed off for 2wks and given tablets to melt on my tongue before each meal and they really helped. Unfort they cant give you them before 14 or 15wks!
