How popular is ....

The name Joshua?

We are finding it really hard to find any boys names we like, but Joshua is one of them, it is growing on me but just wondering if he will end up in a class next to 4 others?

The only other one we both like is River. Unsure if that's too unusual though? I also like to shorten names and woudlnt be ale to with that one.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I know one Joshua the same age as my two, I wouldn't say it's a massively popular one! My two's names weren't hugely popular when I had them and I know a few withthe same name now!

Seems boys names are more difficult to choose than girls!! well for us anyway.

Both my ds's ( 15 and 9) have friends called Joshua and someone else I know had a baby the end of last year and named him Joshua, so I think its one of those names that is always going to be around and quite popular to a certain extent. I do think its a lovely name though xx

It's a great name! I don't think it's overly popular.
It was one of our top 3 names for a boy, I think it's lovely x

I'm having exactly the same thoughts about the same name! I really like it but already know of 2 Joshua's, I'm not close to any of them, but it makes u wonder! I don't want a name that was like 'Daniel' when I was at school, there was about 5 in my year! Xxx

i work in a play area where we serve up to 350 children a day. Joshua is a popular name but not as popular as some others, if i serve 100 customers (including girls) that name would pop us say 3-4 times

Think may come down to seeing if he looks like a Joshua when he is born. I think the name is really growing on me.

I love the name Joshua, it is very common. I had 2 people in the family called Josh and I still went ahead and chose the name because I loved it so much!
