for all the mommys out there...

about how long should i be expected to stay in hopsital if its a normal birth?

They try to get you out as soon as they can if all is ok. Aimee was born at 10.25pm and i was discharged at 11am next day and i had some problems.

If everythings alright with you and the baby then you should only be staying in over night. I had zack at 3.12pm and was out the next day at 11am :cheer:

You should be out that day or the next. They dont like to keep you in any longer that they have to but you will have the support of your midwife and health visitor once you are home should you need it. And us :D . Be prepared though in case of a wee problem.

it all depends when you have your baby.
If its early morning you may be out by 11 am that same day depending on the doctors rounds.
If it late evening or afternon then you'll stay in overnight.

I would recommned an overnight stay what ever time you give birth. :D

Yeah I agree Budge, id be a bit scared to leave the hozzi too soon I think

my dad is going to try and get them to keep me in for a week  he worries to much :)

lol I am proberly totaly opposite to alot of people the sooner I can get out of the hospital the happier i will be I hate hospitals and if both me and baby are fine I just want to be left to get on with it at home were I am more comfortable :D

i stayed in a week with my first to firmly establish breastfeeding. Your visitors are regulated in there too so you can rest more etc.
Its the best thing to stay in at least a nght and a day. No rush to get home at all. :D

i was ok to go after 6 hours but coz i had loads of stictches and brayds had a low heart beat during labour i stayed in over nite

when my sister gave birth we were slgihtly late leaving at visiting time, and they brought her tea around, it looked vile, Egg salad, she got half an egg, a shrivelled piece of lettuce, one cucumber and one tom and a bit of coleslaw....

get ur orders in for kfc when uev delivered ladies, ;) ahhaha

I had Ella at 2.02am, moved down to the ward at around 5-6am, Ella was checked by the paed at 8am and we were waiting to go then. It took the hospital staff nearly two hours to get Ella a hospital number (there was a biatch of a nurse on though so I am sure she was just being a cow!)
