As there aren't many positive BFing threads, but many people are having positive experiences...I thought I'd ask.

I'm back to 7 weeks again after BFing Mason & Brody exclusively for 6 months each :)

21 weeks..im actually really proud of myself.. as for 5 weeks ive been feeding half and half due to edward not gainign weight.. and hes down to 1 bf a day.. im really proud that ive almost got to 5 months :)

Wooo ;) great thread Urchin!

Ive been breastfeeding for 18 weeks :D so proud since my initial target was 6 weeks  Its been one of the hardest things ive ever done but one of my greastest achievements too!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

this long -->

6 weeks till we start weaning and he is nearly 3x his birthweight :cheer:

I have been exclusively breastfeeding since birth, gonna try and get to six months with just the boobie feeding :D

However long my ticker says :) I'm going to feed him exclusively up to 6 months and then my goal is to get to his first birthday, and further if possible.

10 months on Thursday! :cheer: I'm a bit teary actually - I can't believe I've been feeding her myself that long.

I'm now doing 3 feeds a day but it'll drop to 2 feeds (first thing and last thing) by the time she turns one. I'm hoping to keep going past her birthday, my next target is to continue after I return to work and my ultimate goal is to exclusively breastfeed for 18 months.

Well done everyone!

Valentine Xxx

one month and one day, will keep going for as long as I can, will be really pleased if I can make it to 6 months. 6 weeks seems a long way away at the moment though!

6 weeks on thursday! at one point i thought i wouldn't make it to six days. have even kept it up despite being in hospital twice since little man was born with gall stones!!

yay me :cheer: :D

Since birth and have no intention of stopping in the near future. It's just been so easy for us and we're loving every minute. :D

I feel really proud of myself - and that doesn't happen very often :?

as long as my ticker says :cheer: :cheer:

there has been the odd bottle of formula here and there, but 99% of the time its been boobie, and i LOVE it.

i plan to keep going til connor doesn't want it any more (within reason though   )

:D :D :D

I breastfed Asher exclusively until 6 months.

Then when we stated weaning, I introduced bottles during the day.

I now breastfeed him morning and evening and he has one bottle in the day, so he's still gettting most of his milk from me!

I think it's been one of my biggest achievements and and soooo proud of myself. It's all been worth it.

My goal is to keep going until he's a year old. Then I'll phase out the boob.

10 weeks! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Considering how I felt about it before i gave birth I'm really pleased to have made it this far, my goal at the moment is to get to 6 months and then see how things are, I may stretch it beyond that if we are both still happy! Its so worth the initial hassle and pain!

:cheer: to us all

9 months (and however many weeks extra....whatever it says on my ticker lol)

I only made it to 3 months with Lydia though

I did exclusively for about 7 months, then moved onto EBM then formula. I still bf for his night time feed (keep saying I'm going to stop this though) and the odd feed here and there if he's not too well.

i breast-fed millie for 8 months. and (almost) exclusively for 6 months- we'd tried the odd bit of baby rice (with my milk!) and odd bit of fruit puree before 6 months- but it was mid-december before she had any formula so she was just over 6 months. then i started regularly doing one bottle of formula, and at 8 months i got fed up with BF and just stopped suddenly and switched to formula. gonna do the same with cow's milk next when this packet of formula runs out!

Exclusively for 5 weeks so far. I want to go to 6 months at least and then on to a year.

I am reaching a hump at the minute though, I am worried the little one is not putting enough weight on. I am going to up her feeds and try some new techniques to get her to suck more effectively! Hope it works

If you are looking at the charts in your red book and getting worried please don't, they are based on bottle fed babies. :)
