I had a normal delivery and was discharged by 11 am the mornin after i had her :D

I personally wanted to leave the day i had her... but i had a epidural and didn't get the feeling back in my legs until 7pm... i found the hospital no help it was soo hot.

But i'm sure thats cos my hospital was crap

midna i know exactly how you feel, i hated the thought of staying in hospital, even wrote in my birth plan i wanted the shortest possible stay. I only had a one night stay, had Evie at4.20am friday morning and was out by 2pm saturday afternoon. i had normal delivery with no compilcations (and no epidural).
I was toldon the saturday that i may have to stay another night because Evie had Jaundice and had to get her levels checked before leaving. I almost burst into tears hearing that i might have to stay in one more night. It was seriously one of the worst nights of my life. This time im leaving asap hopefully after a few hours, my house is only about 2minutes from the hospital anyway.

I hope everything goes well for you and you have a very short stay  :D .

i had Bray at 3.27 pm on the wed and they were gonna let me out at 7 pm the same day but B had low Blood pressure so they suggested i stayed in i agreed and i was out at 5 pm the next day

I had Charlie on the Sunday afternoon by emergency C-Section (was admitted at 2am that morning) and left on the Thursday morning although even though I hate hospitals I didnt want to come home...I got so used to the company of other mums and the care from the staff!!!
I was in a little longer than usual I think as I was having trouble breastfeeding and they wanted me to be established before the discharged me but the trauma of a C-Section affected my milk coming in (only managed the Colostrum for the time I was in) so I reverted to formula and was allowed to leave

i was in 2 days with Kieron (normal delivery)
i was in 2 weeks with Hannah (c section)

I was in about 3 days with my 1st and she was a normal delivery. No idea why they kept me in so long and I think they would of kept me in longer if I wasn't begging to go home.

hiya

I was exactly the same i said 6 hours and thats it but unfortunatly

With Willow my waters broke Saturday went home that night back in Sunday induced that night had her Monday dinner went home Saturday in a bit long as she had Jaundice.

With COnal waters broke Monday went home Thursday back in Friday he was born tea time and went home Monday i caught an infection with him and he stayed 7 weeks, both were natural and no stitches

I was in over a week (includiing induction) but 5 days AFTER delivery.

I was fine and cried and begged to be let home after two days. We came home at 11pm but had to drive back the next morning as test results came back overnight that Stanley was too jaundiced.

Hospital is grim but don't rush yourself home after. If you're prepared for a stay you may be one of these lucky ones who's ready to go home within the day! :)

i didnt even go to hosp i had a home birth. i had a VB (of course- imagine having a CS at home! )

^^ You wouldn't be able to ever have a CS at home hun

I had an emergency C-Section and had to stay in hospital for 4 days which felt like 4 years - I wish i'd have discharged myself on the night I had him as I hate hospitals with a passion

Went in on friday morning to be induced...had C Section Sat evening and came home on Wednesday so was in for 5 nights in all.

I was dreading it too, I had a few nights in when I was ill during pregnancy and hated it but it was different after the birth, I had my own room after the first night on post op ward, so I felt quite relaxed as I had some privacey but the midwives were there to help should I want it.

The time flies by, and you are so wrapped up in baby that even if you do have to stay a while, it wont be that bad.

I had baby blues after 2 days, and found that so hard to cope with in a strange environment, but the staff were so understanding, and were a great support, telling me how normal everything was I was feeling..I think if I had been at home I would of thought I was going mad and probably would of bottled it up more infront of just OH, in hozzie I didnt feel I needed to put on a brave face

Good luck

Admitted myself on the Friday afternoon, got discharged a week and a day later on the Saturday afternoon, so 8 days total
Originally was kept in as had epidural and spinal block, couldn't walk and had a cathater, and admitted originally because of 'possible infection', neither of us had an infection  Then Isaac got real ill with high jaundice levels and had to be in an incubator.
I absolutely hated it, because I felt it ruined Isaac and his Daddy's bonding time as he couldn't stay with us, but have to say the staff were lovely :)

i went in on the monday to be induced (at 37 weeks). alice was born on the tuesday (midday ish), and we where out the following morning (they asked if i wanted to go or if i felt i needed to stay in longer).

With Josh I had him on a Saturday night was discharged on the Monday afternoon. Had an epidural but a normal delivery. I couldnt wait to get out of there. Dont get me wrong I had a very good hospital experience, but just wanted to get home away from all the noises of a ward.

With Sebastian I had him early hours Saturday morning and was discharged that afternoon. Water birth at the local midwife unit.
He was born at 6:12am and I could have gone home at 8am if I had remembered to pack some clothes . (so dont forget your going home clothes  ).

Just realised that I had both my boys on a Saturday :D

I had him at home, I couldn't stand the thought of going into hospital (although I would have if there had beena problem of course). I was like you it wasn't so much the birth as the stay afterwards, being seperated from OH etc.

As it was we had him 2:30am on the Thursday morning and by 5am everyone had gone home and we were tucked up in our bed with Austin in his moses basket next to us. It was fantastic, exactly what I'd hoped for.

I went in to be Induced at 9am, and came out at 6pm the next night. I came out like 12 hrs after Harrison was born :)

I was in two nights, one in labour and the other after I had her (at 10am)

I had Olivia moday morning 1.41 am and was out by 6 30 pm, lol i made a right fuss and demanded to leave, she was fine, I was breastfeeding fine and hated being there, so they let me go

I am going for a home birth again next time though!
