How far on were you when you bought your first baby thing.

Just had a conversation with my mum who was asking whether I had bought anything yet for the baby. I said that it felt a bit early yet, but she seemed surprised at this.

This has got me wondering if anyone here has bought anything yet. I guess its a bit different for those of you who have toddlers as well as expecting, but I have no baby things at all as my son is 12.

Pregnancy brains kicking in then lol.

I first brought a little pack of vests about 3 days after my 12 week scan. I wanted to make sure everything was ok before I brought things. That didn't stop my family though! When I went to visit my parents theyd already brought me some clothes and the babys some clothes. Think they were a little excited!

I bought my first things straight after my 20 week scan x

I've got loads of stuff in the attic from when my 2nd son was born! Got a Moses basket, bouncer, high chair and loads of clothes.. I'll go through everything in a month or two and see what's useable and what's not. As far as buying anything I'm gonna wait till my 20 week scan when hpefully we'll know what we're having! Hasn't stopped me oohing and ahhing at everything in the shops though!

One baby grow at about 14 weeks, but nothing else until past 24 weeks. Only just started really getting things organised

ohh i started buyin in we things in the sale wen i was trying, and have been pickin up little bits since. donr this with ma 1st baby 2. i bot girls and boys clothes and a few of my friends r havin girls so the girls stuff i bot can be pressies 4 them its personal choice tho and congrats xxx

we did buy 1 little oufit as soon as we found out just to celebrate. then we stated to buy after the 12 week scan really, now we buy something every other week.

I bought some tiny vests and sleepsuits when I reached 12 wks but waited until after the 20 wk scan before we started the nursery or bought any of the big bits.

I bought a few little bits and bobs straight away, just cos I was so excited. I had a gender scan @ 16 weeks and came home and bought a ton of boys stuff X

I had to buy some bits from cousin just after 12 weeks as she was moving and wanted rid - but didn't buy anything new until 20 week scan x

We bought one little babygro after our 12-week scan (which we actually had at 15 weeks!) but then nothing until we'd had our 20-week scan, really.

i started getting stuff for baby after 12 weeks scan BUT my ho mam start buying stuff as soon as i told her at 5weeks wen i had a poss test lol but me myself wait untill after my 12 weeks scan

After my 12 week scan we started buying things but it was around new year so we got some BIG stuff in the sales which was more for cost otherwise maybe would have waited a little longer

as soon as i found out i bought a couple of outfits but my OH was really not happy about it, he just didnt want me to have to deal with baby stuff if something went wrong with the pregnancy... since the 12 week scan i have been a bit more steady with my collecting of stuff.... now we have everything we need except towels, a cot (because Liam is building one special or i would have found/begged/borrowed one before now) and some scratch mittens! Oh and i would like some washable baby wipes too, but i want a posh set of them as i have bought nothing else new

I have managed to get everything, including nappies, that we will need for the first year for under 300quid basically, just by finding bargains, buying secondhand and freecycle

i think along with what we will spend on the cot, i will spend 500quid on everything we need for the baby and then its just toys and over 1 stuff
