Updated because Kelsey made a point of asking if I could change it    ... and it covers things more.... I hope... I've put down how long you gave boob juice for... but if you are like me and haven't reached 9 months, but cant perceive any issues... vote for the nearest one.. If you have actually stopped at a certain age... pick that one... Its also meant to cover those who have LO's who have self weaned and are on ordinary moo juice now  So sorry guys you get to vote again... my bad

Intrigued my many posts recently... not just in Feeding and Nutrition but also in 2nd Tri... I am curious as to the percentages of booby babies, bottle babies and mix babies there are.

In the 2nd tri post I would say around 90% of people say they are going to at least try breastfeed, but in feeding and nutrition I would say there were only around 20% of people who do breast feed, thats just a guesstimate. But it would be in line with the UK stats:

The Office for National Statistics performs its Infant Feeding Survey every five years. The figures from the 2005 survey were published in March 2008. The 2005 figures show some significant improvements from the 2000 survey. Key findings were:

* The proportion of babies breastfed at birth in the UK rose by seven per cent.
* Initiation rates in both Scotland and Northern Ireland rose by eight per cent and those in England and Wales by seven per cent.
* Scotland, which showed the greatest increases in the prevalence of breastfeeding at ages up to nine months in 2000, appears to have stabilised in 2005, with a small increase in the rate at four months and no increase at six and nine months. By contrast, the other countries show an increase at all ages.
* Overall, only 35 per cent of UK babies are being exclusively breastfed at one week, 21 per cent at six weeks, 7 per cent at four months and 3 per cent at five months.
* In 2005, for the first time, figures for Wales were separated from those for England. This will enable each country to see their individual progress at the next survey in 2010.

So as this site tends to cover a nice slice of the British population in terms of class, race, age, yada yada yada... I thought I'd get a general poll... No need to explain why, where, when, what etc,no debate necessary, no judgement... Just a simple yes or no answer... :) You don't even need to post if you don't want to... Just click the poll :)

I booby feed - its actually called booby juice in our house :rotfl: :rotfl:

It used to be called white/brown/yellow/pink moo juice when Tia was little depending on the flavour  ... and now its boob juice and moo juice.. Then Tia grew out of it... and its "Just called milk, mum, psssf" now.. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

She has Boobie juice but its expressed and I will do that till I run out. I'm hoping that wont happen for a while but as long as I'm making it she can drink it. :)

I voted mix juice (yummy!) because as of this week I it is what Rudy is getting. I did 12 weeks of boobie juice alone too.

Alex xxx

We just call it booby juice. Or boobytime (you know the song hammertime, well OH kindly filmed me singing this to Calleigh only replacing the words with boobytime  )

We are on the bottle and Riley loves it!!!

I really wanted to BF, but he just wasn't getting nearly enough milk from me :( We tried it for a few days in hosp, but he wasn't even getting to sleep because he was constantly trying to feed. Gutted I couldn't BF him

But I like to think at least he is getting nutrients etc now and the right amount of milk :D

Hubby always calls it "bitty" as in little Britain, im sure it will be Maia's first word :D

OH tried that! Never again! Lol

We've started giving a bottle of formula a day in the last couple of weeks so that I can express less. But hey, 5 months on only expressed boob juice was pretty good going! And dropping that one feed has meant I have more time and I've sewn a nappy bag :) It is lovely to have a bit of time not expressing!

OMG I sing this to Cally, and we call milk booby juice. Seren now just calls it booby and tells me to put Cally on boobie when she cries.

we're on boob juice at the mo but am thinking about mix juice as my boyo is a hungry hungry monster and mummy is a tired girl!

I'm confused!
Is moo juice, formula? or cows milk? Or am I just being stupid?! (which I probably am! )

Dan was at first fed booby juice through a pipette (prem) and due to manyl reasons was formula fed (but also boobie feed at the BF clinic & ebm) and now he is on cow's milk!

So what's moo juice? Formula or cow's milk?
Not quite sure what to tick!

 Sorry, just realised this thread is probably aimed at under 1 years old!
...time for bed, me thinks!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: apparently you can booby feed them till they are 8... so maybe not aimed at under ones ... Moo juice is formula... Formula is made from moo juice its just highly processed moo juice to make it suitable for babies...:)

bit of an unfair test really as it doesn't take into account ages... :) Should do one for that too really
