Me again,

just thinking, do they date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period? or how do they do it?? For example if I got pregnant on this cycle and found out on cd26, would I be nearly 4 weeks gone?

just trying to get my head around it all

Hi Kate. Congrats x x x
They do it from your 1st day of your last period but will do a growth scan at 12 weeks which will say 12 weeks, or 13 weeks and 2 days or so on which then goes more by the day you conceived.

Yes they always go from the date of your last period, as many women dont know when they ovulated so cannot use that date!

In effect the baby is always 2 weeks behind you - ie you might be 10 weeks pregnant and the fetal age is 8 weeks - its a bit strange but thats the way its been done for years!

Your 12 week scan will then determine a more accurate date if necessary.
