how do i get him off the boob?

any suggestions?

james is now 6 months old and although i still want to breast feed morning and night, i need him to start taking formula during the day in preparation for my return to work.

but he wont have it! he refuses the formula and then wont put the bottle back in his mouth!

ive expressed since he was 4 weeks and hes never had a problem drinking from a bottle, but now hes refusing breast milk from it too!!!

its like hes got a sixth sense!!

any body else ahd this? what did you do?

when my midwife talked to me about expressing milk and feeding my little chicken. she said that she may not take a bottle from me because she will still be able to smell my breast milk. she advised me that if i wanted to bottle feed or express that she would take to it a lot easier if someone else fed her the bottle.

As long as your baby has been weaned - I would think it's the perfect time to offer drinks in suitable cups. My daugther went from boob to cup - only much later did she take to a bottle!
Don't worry too much - you little bunny won't go without.
