How do baby groups work?

I was the youngest at a group this morning, and because c usually sleeps for an hour or so in the morning and he didn't he just screamed and.cried and wouldn't settle the whole time, all the other mums were 30-40, had amazing careers they were going back to, and lots of times I was there I just felt awkward, but since leaving work for maternity I have become socially awkward and.extremely shy...feel a bit like an alien sometimes. So when you go next week pinky push yourself to talk cause I didn't and I'm dreading next week (making myself try one more time) xxx

I'm probably the youngest at the baby group I go to but all the mums are lovely and h loves it there!he goes off on his own and plays and he is friends with the lady that runs it little girl (their 2 wks apart age wise) but I go more for him!
