How did labour start for you?

I had contractions every 10 minutes... 99 hours 10 minutes later she was dragged out!

I had a bit of show the day before the contractions.
My waters broke at 4cm (which was 90 min before she appeared!)

My first labour I started with contractions that kept stopping and starting up again for two days.

This labour I had pinkish dishcharge from when I woke on the Wednesday. My hind waters went when I stood up to go to bed Wednesday night. They continued to leak all night and contractions started Thursday lunchtime.

I started to get quite strong period pains on my EDD. They gradually got stronger throughout the day and came every 10 minutes or so. This went on for four days and nights, with the pain getting more intense and increasing in frequency. I had my show the day after the pain started too.

My contractions were not regualr enough to be admitted - but after four days with no sleep, I begged them to check me and give me pain relief. Turns out I was 3-4cm dilated and the fun began!

My daughter showed up 12 hours later - I had to have my waters broken and a drip to speed up the contractions.

I had constant niggly backache and period type pains for a good 12 hours during the day whilst out shopping with my mum. I just 'felt' different and couldnt shake off the aches at all. BH were very strong too but not regular, until about 10-11pm at night when they started to take on a pattern and become more regular, not to mention more painful. I managed them ok for a couple of hours but by about 3am I figured it was definately labour and they were taking my breath away so started to take it more seriously. Around this time I also lost my bloody show, so rang labour ward who said the usual paracetemol and bath, try to sleep, blah, blah! Did have a bath though, which helped loads, but things were getting stronger and more painful by the minute. Held on as long as I could then rang labour ward back and finally went in to be checked at around 7am. Was a bit disappointed to only be 4cm, but they kept me in and let me on the gas and air :cheer: , great stuff!! Once in hospital things progressed pretty quickly, and my waters broke about 11am, giving me the urge to push almost straight away. Hung on a bit longer until it became impossible to resist then finally had my son at 12.54 lunch time. :cheer:

I can only hope this labour will be as smooth and speedy! x
