hey every one,

i was just wondering does any one know how i can go about getting a council house faster than i would normally, i am obviously pregnant and really need a house, i am currently at home but my parents house can not physically fit another person in, however small they may be, i have already told the council this but i have had no luck, so far,

any advice at all is greatly appreciated!!! :D

a little while after i had my second child i told the council that my mum was kicking me out on a certain date and i asked my mum to write a letter for me too, just to say that she was, it worked for me, a couple of weeks b4 the date they offered me a place!!!

thank you

did you give them a big period of time to wait??

i really appreciate it

We currently live in a very damp, cold flat, have a solicitor involved in the matter as the council refuses to accept there's any problem  I've made an appointment to see a lettings officer, might be something you could do too sartet

I asked my midwife about it, and she said she couldn't help until after the baby was born, but there's no way I'd bring my baby home here, so I'd be on my friends couch before that happened

i know how you feel. we are in a 1 bed flat. its very damp and so cold. im really worried about having a baby here.

Hey all of you girls who are having trouble too :D ( and the girls who helped me  )

what i have done is, i had a midwife appontment on Tues and asked her if she could help and she referred my 'case' to parent support (my midwife is at Surestart), i got a call this morning from them and they are going to try and try their hardest for me to sort my situation out, asap.

so get down to surestart if you havent already   :D

Sorry to hear you're in a similar situation keslo66 :( I really hope you get a move before your baby arrives, I would suggest making an appointment with a lettings officer, because of that I'm getting additional needs assessment, so things may get moving now, worth a try, best wishes with it, I know how upsetting it can be

Thankyou for the advice sartet, I wish you lots of luck with your case and hope your situation is resolved ASAP

I have this problem too! The council havn't replied to any of my emails even though i actually dont have anywhere to live at the moment and im crashing around with people!

I think their useless!!!!!
