joined homeswapper last year, had someone show a bit of interest then changed her mind.

BUT she emailed me on wednesday and she is coming to view my house on Monday, mind you it still needs a bit of decoration work.

never mind fingers crossed. She has a three bedroom house and we have a two.

yeh they do :)

is this through the council/ association thing?

lucky you, i hope it goes well :)

yes, if you have a council house or housing association then you can log onto this site and if there is someone that you want to swap then hey presto. can be anywhere in the country.

Still in Eastbourne, but this house is in an area called Old Town. We are living in Hampden Park which is really lovely. Old Town is nice too, but the new house has the extra bedroom and we have 3 boys the oldest being nearly 13, then Joshua 5 and Liam. The garden is meant to be large. I really hope that she likes our house. we havent decorated the kitchen or bathroom as these are meant to be replaced. The boys bedroom needs decorating and carpeted and our bedroom needs a paint as it is pink and blue.

so hope that hers needs decorating too.

You're so lucky. My hubby and I have two children in a one bedroom flat. We live in Ilford, and have been told to realistically expect a 6 year wait before being offered a two bedroom home. It's so disheartening.

if you are living in a council or housing association property then there is no reason why you cant apply on homeswapper.co.uk. if you property is council then it should be free to go on there.

We swapped houses like this about 3 times when I was a kid lol!

There may well be an older couple whos kids have moved out and want to downsize to a flat so you never know!

Have you heard about the new house-swapping trend where people swap their houses for vacations or sometimes for permanent residences?

House swapping is an increasing practice, which enables the mass to get out of their comfort zone and try something new

After automatically matching customers’ potential swap, they contact them over email or text message. The customers now go through the options and choose that suits them the best.

In these times of economic downfall, you have to think twice before spending that extra pie. Whether shopping for local grocery or spending for vacations.

You only spend money on travel and food. If you are swapping your home through a website, then you may have to pay a membership fee as well.

Before swapping, however, you must check your insurance policy and make agreement terms with the family you are swapping.

A vacation in another person’s home gives you a better experience at handling things since there is no one here to serve food as and when you need unlike hotels.
