high risk but not too sure why??

hi i had my midwife appointment when i was about 7 weeks and she listed me as high risk after i told he about the birth of my first LO ( it was 46 hours, forceps x2 episiotimys (sp?) and only have of the after birth came out which resulted in my belly being pumped and a blood transfusion also LO was back to back and his head was facing up instead of being tucked in) but every birth isnt the same so surely this one wont be as bad. I dont understand why my pregancy is high risk due to this as i had a great pregancy with LO, i didnt think to much to start of with but its starting to bug me a bit now. What does being high risk mean? does it mean they will keep a extra close eye on me? sorry just a bit confused

I think the blood transfusion and forceps makes you high risk x

If youve had a massive blood loss during birth resulting in transfusion, then i think they like to keep an eye on youincase same thing happens again during you next birth x

Just ask your midwife at your next appointment hun, they'll be able to explain exactly why x

I'm down as high risk BMI was slightly over, to be honest I think in a way I'm pleased.. I had a midwife app once a month and had around 2/3 additional scans. This being my first pregnancy I've found it reassuring that I'm being monitored and got to see baby more, a couple of friends had 3 midwife apps and 2 scans throughout their pregnancies so I've found it more helpful. I hope everything works out for you being 'high risk' is nothing to worry about you just get to be a bit more special for this pregnancy happy pregnancy! X

YOu need to be high risk as you will need to have drugs after your next labour to stop the heammorage again. Also they have to be so careful these days and prob would rather err on the side of caution!!
