Hi there- have been lurking for a few weeks but hadn't really had much to say.
OH and I have properly been trying to conceive for the past 8 months.
I've had 3 miscarriages, first at 12 weeks, second at 16 and the last was in August at 5 weeks- I didn't even know I was pregnant- had been in town with mum, started getting severe cramps and feeling sick so she took me to the hospital and they broke the news there.
I wasn't even sure I wanted kids before I first found out I was pregnant the first time- but once the hormones kicked in I soon found out I did!
I waited until 8 months ago to start 'properly' trying as I knew I had some kind of medical condition invloving urinary symptoms, but didn't know what and wanted to know what I was dealing with and what would be safe first! I eventually got a diagnosis of trigonitis, dysfunctional voiding and pelvic floor dysfunction which had conspired to cause my constant UTI's, periodic bouts of acute renal failure and scarring of my kidneys. I was also diagnosed with CFS which my doctor has told me they suspect was probably caused by the trauma of my other conditions. I asked them to have a look at my reproductive system while they were doing an ultrasound of my kidney and bladder and they said they couldn't see any major structural problems- and the urologist said he couldn't see any reason I shouldn't ttc- and that in fact many women with CFS found pregnancy relieved many of their symptoms- so it's worth a try!
The main reason I joined this forum is although my best friend and my OH are sympathetic and supportive- they're both men , bless them!! There are some things they just don't really get.
