Hi everybody!
I'm Emma, I'm 29 and 1st time mum browsing this forum for a few weeks now, not really posted much!
My son Harry James was born on 4th December, 18 days early. After a very easy trouble free pregnancy at 36 weeks I developed cholestasis and had an appointment to see the consultant on the 5th December to book my induction as the don't like to leave you past 38 weeks due to the risk to baby.
Anyway much to my shock my waters broke (literally gushed, which when I described this to a trainee midwife she found hilarious!) at 5am on the 4th, my OH had to work so at 9am went to hospital with my mum and they said unless contractions get regular come back in 24hours to be induced. Well, things got going at about 2pm contractions were getting quicker. Paced up and down until hospital let me come in at 5.30, went straight to a room and at 6pm was 4cm. Things went very quickly then, I went on the gas and air, had a bounce on the ball and walked around until 8.30pm when I was checked again and fully dilated!!
Then things get abit blurry as I was on the bed and pushing when a oxygen mask was put on my face and people came running into the room, I remember my mum shouting at me to push and after the biggest push out came my baby
don't remember much until my boy (we kept the sex a surprise) was put on my chest. Turns out his heart rate had dropped and he had the cord wrapped round his neck and if I hadnt gave that push they would have had to pull him out.
So Harry James O'Donnell was born at 9.15pm(7 hours established labour) weighing 6lb 11oz
He is now a very happy and healthy 6 week old baby and I am a very happy mummy![Smile :-) :-)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
Looking forward to joining in the forum and speaking with you all![Smile :-) :-)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
