Doctors today at 3pm! Im not sure if anyone seen any of my previous posts of my boy having Norovirus. Went to GP after a few days.. then after 2 weeks to see a peadatriction as I want happy. All fobbed us off with it can last 4 to 6 weeks.

So here we are 6 weeks later! still constant diorreah 3 to 6 times a day. To be fair, to begin with he had a cold to go with it so can see why they diagnosed norovirus.

I'm demanding answers today. Has anyone with babies on Nutramigen 2 .. seen a difference from Nutramigen 1? Or babies developing more allergies?

Hoping to get some sort of allergy test done so we know exactly what he has. x

Sounds like allergies/intolerance. My LO had very loose stools (not exactly diarrhoea as not totally watery, but you get the picture!) and they turned into diarrhoea when we started whole milk. In the last couple of weeks we started a lactose-free diet - seemed sensible as definitely not cow's milk allergy and my sister has lactose intolerance - and now he has what I'd call proper stools and only once or twice a day. Such a relief. We were changing his nappy 7-8 times a day and most of the time it was dirty. Never put it together with the "reflux" until the nursery mentioned how runny his poos were.

I really hope you can get something positive out of the doctor. Hopefully they can do some allergy testing. I read somewhere that babies/toddlers can develop a temporary lactose intolerance after illness, so perhaps your LO's developed an intolerance to something after initially being ill? xx

We already know he has some sort of cows milk allergy, and soya. Just this has seemed to come a week or 2 after switching to nutramigen lipil 2, rather than 1. I don't know if theres any difference in them.

Just hope the doctors listen! x

Have you had a look at Nutrimagen's website? The difference between 1 and 2 is just that 2 has "more calcium and other nutrients to complement a weaning diet". I suppose it's possible it could cause a temporary issue, but seems unlikely it'd last as long as 6 weeks.

I did look that up yep.
Well we've been and im not happy!

After first off being told 'norovirus' can last 4 to 6 weeks. Hes now told me if it goes on up to 10 weeks then he'll refer me to peadiatricion again. ridiculous. He's lost so much weight, I can make out every one of his ribs when he rolls on his side, and make out 2 when hes lying down! Yet they don't care.. there'll be nothing left of him at this rate!! =(

Oh! That's unbelievable! Norovirus doesn't last that long. We had it and were ill for around 24-48 hours. Any diarrhoea beyond a few days and they should really be testing a stool sample, at the very least. Can you get a paediatrician referral through your HV? Have you had him weighed recently to see how much he's lost? Can't believe how rubbish some GPs are xx
