Help!

Our baby has similar symptoms to yours. We tried Gaviscon Infant and it stops his spit ups as he spits up constantly and a lot! He had some constipation with it so we gave him a bit of peppermint tea (a very small amount) on the advice of our GP. This seemed to calm his tummy a little and it made the constipation better as he was a little dehydrated too. I think our lad has a very sensitive digsstive system still as he sort of struggles against the feed (he is being formula fed) and we might try him on a reduced lactose formula to see if that is the problem. It is hard though when you're not getting any sleep and your baby cries all through the day, you just want to pull your hair out. I know the feeling!!!

Hiya, he was first on Cow & Gate and then we switched to Aptamil as it is supposed to be the closest to breastmilk. We have used the Gaviscon Infant in that, it does thicken the feed so his poos have been a bit thicker. We also tried Cow & Gate Comfort as that is supposed to help babies who spit up a lot and has less lactose in it but he had a rather strange reaction to that. We are back on the Aptamil and use the Gaviscon Infant. It helps somewhat but I think he is just a very fussy baby - we have tried so many things to try and settle him - infacol (works ok, nothing to write home about), colief, different bottles, cranial osteopathy etc and although they all help somewhat nothing has really been miraculous. I think he just likes attention and needs to be held and jiggled constantly and needs a lot of stimulation and cries when he doesn't get it. We're exhausted though as when he is not crying he is often very moany. When he is not crying he is a lovely little chap - smiling and giggling but he can change in an instant. Good luck anyhow!

We found that playing my wave sounds CD really helps soothe him, also putting him to the nipple, so maybe try skin to skin?

But what always works is a trip in the car or him in the car seat being swayed, so we're buying a baby swing that automatically rocks LO if you have a way of swaying Maia, try it and see, it works with Isaac, very best wishes

As I've mentioned before, I've read induced and traumatic birth babies do like to be held more, how true it is I don't know but just wanted to say it's not anything you're doing, but yes I agree if Mummy's stressed it can pass to LO too but I know how easily it is to worry and then become stressed, upset
Really hope she's better now, and you are well too
