So for the last 3 days Lizzie hasn't slept. At all. The most she's had is 10 minutes in my arms now and again. She won't lay in her moses basket without crying, she won't even just lay in my arms and be still, she has to be rocked and change positions every few minutes.
The main problem is that OH is away so I'm on duty 24/7, I haven't even had time to cook myself any food and I really need a shower - I have 2-day-old baby puke in my hair and it's not nice!!
I'm so knackered, please please please tell me this is a phase and she'll start having naps again!? :wall2:
Should I just leave her to cry while I shower and dress? How the hell do single parents do it?

she could be having a growth spurt?? that can cause disruption to their routine.....

My LO did this as well and it was really distressing as nothing I did ever seemed to comfort him :(
Eventually he calmed down and he hasn't done it since. As for the shower, do you have a baby seat you can pop her in?
I took drew into the bathroom with me, had the shower curtain back far enough so that he could see me and went about my business.
Hope this helps :)

I agree, bring her into the bathroom. It's so hard doing it on your own. The amount of times I've had to leave charley to cry so I could do something. It doesn't hurt them to cry for abit though. It does get easier, charley wouldn't nap unless on me when he was a newborn and I could never put him down awake but now he doesn't like being cuddled for long and settles himself to sleep!

Cheers girls, took her in the bathroom in her carseat so at least I could talk to her while she was crying, bless her. OH has been let off early today so he's back this afternoon (yay) and he's here until sunday so I'll get a bit of a break :)

I started comforting mine sometimes by just them seeing I was there, putting our hands over the moses etc your arms do get tired and I'm afraid you have to eat too. What about a bouncer at the kitchen door etc?

Sometimes I just had to do what I needed like wash and eat (although some may not agree) x

Lizzie has discovered a toy which she can kick to play songs that seems to keep her busy for 15 minutes which is a godsend! So I can at least scoff my face in that time lol :)
