Hi

I'm trying to work out date of O to save my sanity for the next 2ww… in some ways I'd rather think "I missed it this month" so I don't have 2 weeks of anxious did-I-didn't-I going around in my head for 14 days before the inevitable disappointment(!)

So if anyone could help give advice on when they think it would have happened that would be ace… the online "calculators" just give a window of about 5 or 6 days which isn't very helpful!!

My average cycle is 28 days altho last one was 29, and started on a Saturday (29th) just over 2 weeks ago.

I'm not doing OPK (OH would hate that, he's already complaining about the "pressure") but observed EWCM from about Friday mid-afternoon till Sunday mid-afternoon at which point it went away pretty quick. Nothing today so now feeling very un-fertile.

If anybody could hazard a date at which they think I can use as my O-reference date for this cycle I would be very grateful!!!

x

I wouldnt know which day you ov'ed hunny but i would class all of the days you had ewcm as fertile days.

If you dont want to do opks maybe look it temping, it wont tell you when you are going to ov but it will confirm the day you did.

Goodluck hunny, my fingers are crossed you have caught it :fx: x x

Hi M2A

Thanks for your advice, if we've made no progress after 3 cycles (this is #2) then I might sneak a thermometer into the flat! :)

Sounds like there might be some hope for me then, everywhere on the internet seems to have different ideas of what 'windows' there are for how long the :sperm: and :egg: live and I'm just really confused! :oooo:

x

I'm not able to take a guess either as I don't really notice EWCM so not sure what days leading up to and following ovulation, just for a rough guess if it were me though I'd go with saturday.

I'm also in cycle 2 of ttc and am taking the approach of 'i've missed my chance this month' and just relaxing about it and waiting until next cycle as i've no idea if or when i ovulated as I was away which i think could have messed my temps up.

I have to second what M2A said about temping though if you don't want to get stressed out with OPK's. It's really a good way of keeping an eye on when you're into the 2ww and pinpointing OV day x

Hi Tinkerbell

Thanks for your advice and words of wisdom too :) Really hope that Saturday was the day but am trying to be pessimistic about everything!

Like you I hope to keep level-headed and tell my brain "just 3 weeks wait until we can try again", as (for some reason?!) I didn't have any problems being patient during the first 2 weeks of this cycle once the :witch: arrived on her broomstick! Have to see how long that lasts tho!!

I'd actually personally love to try out the OPKs (there's a good chance OH would have no idea what they were/what I was up to if he saw them) altho I think I'd have to get em delivered to work not home!! Hehe.

hi tinselcat, just thought i'd let you know that i get a positive a few days AFTER ewcm and do every month without fail so it might be a bit later than you think. xx

Eek! Thanks for the info Positivity!

Gives me a good excuse for dragging OH to bed for the next week or so then, just in case

yep, without fail i get ewcm a good 4 days or so before my positive OPK and then u dont actually ov until 12-36 hours after the surge so go for it!!! have fun! xx

I did OPKs without DH knowing so he didn't feel pressured. The only thing with keeping it a secret is that it's frustrating if you know you've got a surge and they don't want to BDed as you can't say anything!! LOL. Thought that had happened to me this cycle though and look what happened!!

Sounds like your strategy massively paid off too!! :) So happy for you guys

The more I see about them, the more I am tempted to try em out... would have to be on the sly!!

I am holding out a small hope that our BD/Ov timing ends up with similar results to yours! (BD Fri morning, think Ov may have been Sun evening - that's a complete guess by me tho... hopefully it caught!)

xx
